Which activities can affect muscle definition?
« on: May 24, 2011, 10:54:30 AM »
I'm just wondering if the musculature is affected by anything in the game; I couldn't find any. EA tends to just throw in some random features without integrating them properly while ignoring the glaring bugs. I've tried all the different workout options in the game but none of them seem to have any effect on the muscle definition.

Anyone else angry that both jogging and strength workouts now bulk up the sims faster than a rising pizza dough in oven? It used to be cardio and jogging do not turn your sims into giant man-hulks, which made a lot more sense than the current scenario. [redacted] Or at least integrate muscle definition into the game in some fashion other than just a slider at the CAS menu?

Are there any mods out there that remedy this? Or at least integrate muscle definition into the game in some fashion other than just a slider at the CAS menu?

The muscle definition that's in CAS can only be changed in CAS.  You can change the size of the muscles with exercise (which you already know).  But you can't change the definition.

Strange. In real life you can get muscle definition when working out with light weights and a lot of reps while following a strict diet. I was asuming something similair would trigger that in The Sims 3 also: like a combination of the already existing Power training and running a threadmill.

No, afraid not.  The muscle definition slider is like the breast slider.  Neither can be changed in-game.

Than on another note: can you get rid of the muscle definition?

By the way sth128: Have you already tried the body sculptor? I'm not sure but it may could get you the muscle definition. But if that doesn't help, I don't know what does.

No, you can't get rid of muscle definition, either.

Would muscle definition also be an inherited trait?  It would stink if the only Sims that could have large definition muscles were those made in CAS, while their kids would look just like any other Sim after aging up.  I of course realize that child Sims only have the fatness slider and I think teens don't yet have the muscle definition slider, I just wondered if they inherited it and it just showed up on aging up, just as vampire kids don't need plasma till aging up.

I believe I've seen muscle definition get passed on to the children.

That is strange. Muscle definition should be done with training and diet, it's not something that is in your DNA. Sure you have more or less potetion to be large, tall, thick or muscular and in any size between those but if muscle definition can be passed on I will find that strange.

It's just the way the game is made.  I guess they aren't worried very much about realism.

Yes, Pam, you are right, muscle definition gets passed down. It is even visible.
