I suppose the guide was written when only the base game was released, and with only the base game you have to collect all types of gems.

That is the case, yes, seeing as the base game had only ten gems to begin with.

As the number of 10 hasn't changed, maybe the guide need some improvements, to prevent confusion with new readers.
