Pre-Order Generations and Get Outdoor Living Free

Mac downloads come from GameTree Online.  EA even tells you that.   I get all of my downloads this way but I'm not sure you can get the Outdoor Living SP with it.

Thanks Pam for sharing this. And I'm so glad I popped back on here just in time I just bought Outdoor Living and Fast Lane Stuff locally but did not open them yet. So who knows what I'm about to do!?!?

I am so excited about this new game. I didn't even know there was a new game out till I went online to price check the stuff packs. I hate when I am out the loop for a long time. Is there a thread that talks about the game? Or is this it?

@ Simstar, I believe you can cancel your pre-order. However I think you have to do it within a certain time frame for pre-orders.

@ Aussie, when I went to EA from a search engine it took me to the 20% but when I went directly to EA.com it showed the free game. Did you try that? If not can you go to EA's US site? Is it going to be more expensive? I didn't even know there were different sites for EA.com. *clueless*

When I go directly to ea.come the ad tells me I can get Outdoor Living for free, but when I actually click on it to get to the preorder page it offers me a special on Late Night instead. When I click to preorder, a discounted copy of Late Night gets added to my cart, but no Outdoor Living. Oh well, it's probably best if I wait for the holidays anyway. Does anyone know if there are other benefits to preordering?

This will be my first time doing a pre-order on EA but from what I hear you get the game on the day of release which is a plus for me. When I went to get the base game on the day of release it was sold out. I had to travel to like 5 stores till I was successful. Which by the way I find strange because I can never find fellow Simmers here in Minnesota. Perhaps they are undercover? 

I don't like to wait which is why I never order online. However I guess I'll find out if the arrival time thing is true because I am definitely going to do it.

What is everyone's experience with shipping or download times on the day the new release is out?  Not sure whether I want to get hard copy or digital... 

I live in the U.S. and have pre-ordered everything on disc from the EA online store.  It has always gotten delivered to me on the day of release or the day after.  There was one time when I mistakenly pre-ordered the digital download and I had the download code in my email on the day of release.

Is there a thread that talks about the game? Or is this it?

I usually get it from GameTree but they don't give the free OL Stuff pack with it so thats why I was trying to see if I could get it from Ea.

So Tommy are you saying you can't get the game for Mac from EA or you can only get the digital download? I believe it CD is for both Mac and PC.

He was saying that the download is unavailable for Macs through EA.   EA is PC download only but their CDs are both.   EA tells Mac users to download from another site completely.

I preordered a few days ago, digital version, and OLS was immediately available for download.

O ok that's cool. So since you chose the download of the EP does that mean you must get the download of OL? U can't do download of EP and disk of OLSP? I hope that I'm getting mine on CD because when i chose my option for Generations it didn't ask how I wanted OL. My email didn't mention it sending OL. Just the EP. O dear. I need to go check on that.

Pre-ordered my copy this afternoon, danced around happy as could be.  Then tonight my computer died...along with my 6 generations of legacy and my Baby boomer challenge, ugh.
