Can you get the books written by your sim back again?
« on: May 18, 2011, 09:59:38 AM »
Hello:

First off I play this game on console, but after searching for an answer to my question I figured this forum would be where I would have better luck.  8)

As my subject mentioned - my Sim is a writer and I wanted to keep a copy of every book that she has written. However, due to inventory limit in my house I was forced to sell some when I moved. Now I would like to get those I sold back. I can't buy them at the book store and I am only mailed 1 copy. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Special note to Carl and Pam: I am very impressed with your site and it has helped me immensely on my Xbox 360. I have sort of been making an unofficial walk through for myself (mainly started out with notes and grew and grew...). I would be more than happy to assist you with ASCII files for a specific topic if you ever choose to include a console version. Most of your content works for Xbox users as you have described it. There are a few differences though and that is where I would love to assist if that need arises. Thanks again for the wonderful site!

I don't think you can get those novels back. I had the same problem you had, when I moved... I wanted to keep all of my author's novels, but due to inventory restrictions I was forced to part with most of the novels he had written since he started writing. So I just kept most of the masterpieces he wrote. It would've also been grand if the writer's household still recieved a "royalties check" after his death because he was making a considerable amount of currency, lol.

In the PC version of the game, you can use the computer to order extra copies of books.  If you haven't tried this, I'd suggest clicking on the computer to see if that option is available to you.

^ That option isn't avalible on the console version though. You can only sign-up for a book club, but once you do you can't choose which books you want shipped to you, nor can you decide the quanity. They really seem to have taken quite a few of the intresting installments in the original PC version out of the console version. (Not saying the console version isn't intresting as is, of course. :))

I would love to add more information on the Console version of The Sims 3. Send me a PM with details of what you could provide. I'm sure I can use it, even if it's notes. I can label it as such and it's sure to help folks who come looking for certain information. Maybe I could even incorporate some bits into existing guide pages.

I'll try to accumulate all the information I've encountered recently as soon as I get a moment to grasp my thoughts. Perhaps the staff might want to set-up some type of advertisment to other console users about what they could assist with aswell and submit to you via PM. I think If we could get a generous amount of users submitting information to you, we'll pretty much have the console version flowing with information here. This site is pretty reliable from what I've seen already. :)
