Toddler won't grow up with birthday cake Xbox 360
« on: May 17, 2011, 09:01:34 PM »
So idk what's wrong everytime I buy the cake and select it to throw a
birthday party the toddler never shows up in the que. She has all of her traits (walks talks potty trained). I have aging on epic because I don't want my sims to die so quick. I turned it down to long and waited a day to see if it would make a difference and it doesn't. I don't want to cheat because I like the lifetime rewards. Can someone help? Why isn't the cake working?

Are you the toddler when you click the cake? Just like you would when clicking the mirror or dresser.

Have you been successful in using the birthday cake before now?  Or is this your first attempt?

Do you have aging turned off under your settings? If you do then the cake will never work!

Yes I've used the cakes before. Aging is on, but on epic and I've turned it back to normal. Someone told me I have to wait until it's the toddlers birthday. Toddlers can't interact with anything but they're toys and the tv.

Yes they can. They can interact with there potty once they know how to use it and they can use the mirror to change there looks and they can also use the dresser to change there clothes. Just try to click the cake as the toddler and see if it lets you and if it works. If nothing works then you're just going to have to wait till the toddler grows on it's own. Also, you should experiment more on what toddlers can and can't click.

You said that you have used the cakes before....was it early or was it the exact birthday? From what I have read somewhere (can't remember where) is that you can only use the cakes to age a Sim early only once. So, if you jumped the gun from baby to toddler then you can't jump the gun from toddler to child. The toddler doesn't need to interact with the cake. have the mom or dad click on the cake and then select who gets to blow out the candles. Then the parent will go and get that child and boom....

Aging is on, but on epic

That is why I was confused...There is the setting for lifespan, which contains 'epic' and then below that a bit there is a check box to turn aging on/off. This is why I asked if aging was turned on. =) I should have been more specific......sorry. If it is off then the cakes shouldn't work.

I have struggled with many issues with this game. I rent my games from Gamefly, so that means no manuals of any kind. This site has helped me a lot. I hope this works for you. Let us know. Thanks!

I have been able to age my sims more than once early.  You just have to make sure the enable aging button is on.
