Actually, in seven generations, it's not all that surprising if the first generation actually born didn't have them.  The genetics isn't all that deep, and traits get bred out quickly.

The real test would be to do a "baby boomers" style challenge with two sims with freckles.

Aw thats too bad you can't inherit them. Do any sims in Sunset Valley have any freckles?

Claire Ursine does. I'm not sure about anyone else off the top of my head though.

There are very few premade Sims that have freckles. But, sometimes they are the weirdest Sims. For example, Sofia Carlton from Twinbrook has freckles.

Actually, I found out the answer to one of my questions - children CAN have freckles! For instance, premade Sim Darlene Bunch (child) from Sunset Valley has freckles from the start. I think there is a very little chance that freckles will be inherited, but that chance is close to 0%.

It's possible she was made in CAS with freckles, by the developers.

Or they edited her afterwards. Yeah, that's most likely the reason.
