One word: wow. :o That is one heck of a laptop, and not only for Sims purposes. If you can afford it, go right ahead.

Yaaay! Thanks! lol. Only problem is it's refurbished so I cannot reserve it in store and can't order online with my gift card. :S

Found an ATI one..

Would you say this one is equal, better or worse? http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/acer-aspire-5552-15-6-laptop-black-10945106-pdt.html

No need to say sorry, at all! We are here to help. :)

I think the second is the best of all three. But since it's a quad core, I'm still hesitating, so that's not for sure. I'll see if I can do some research and see if quad cores run TS3 well.

Thanks!

Hmm my problem now is I've looked on notebookcheck.net and when you go down to sims 3 it says the second is the worst and will play on low. The other two on high.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-420M.35837.0.html   The Acer Aspire 5743

http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5470.23698.0.html The Acer Aspire 5552

http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5650.23697.0.html The Acer Aspire 7551

:S lol

I have an HP Pavilion g series - it's the best, in my opinion. The graphics are astonishing, and it loads within seconds - the video card isn't recognised and the graphics settings were pretuned to the highest possible. After playing for a few hours, I checked the heat. In the time that my old laptop would burn, I have barely any heat output. I'm happy now.
