Preempting licentious and drunkard negative buffs?

I have a licentious hero and thought I was being proactive by regularly kissing people. After one such encounter the dry spell buff popped up about 5 minutes later. Is there no way to work ahead of these buffs? Right now it seems you have to be reactive and wait for the buff to appear, rather than being proactive. Doesn't make much sense for this buff to come up right afterwards.

Haven't experimented in detail with drunkard, but I'm wondering if you have to wait for the buff there too.

With the drunkards, you don't have to wait for the buff.  Having a drink twice a day keeps my drunks in a good mood, making Drunkard my favourite Fatal Flaw as it's so easy to deal with.  As long as I make sure they have a drink with their meal, they never get the negative buff.

I've played the Licentious FF only once and that was enough to convince me not to do it again, so I don't know if the proactive approach works with them.  You'd expect it to, but from what you wrote it sounds like maybe not.
