Finding the Vasquez family
« on: May 07, 2011, 10:59:21 AM »
Hey guys, I've been lurking on these forums for quite a while and they really have helped me through my troubles as i venture into the world of Sims 3 for Xbox.

I looked up the families of Moonlight Bay, and I'm trying to get my Sim's friends list filled with most of them.

However, the family that normally lives by Fairytale park, The Vasquez family, isn't there! They've been replaced by the "Walls" Blake Wall being one of them.

I started a new game quickly and found the Vasquez's right where they should be, but only because I was playing as them.

Is it impossible for me to interact with them playing as my own Sim family?

Thanks!

Why do you need to be friends with them anyways?

Each new game is different. Most of the time you'll get the usual sims like Cevin Feron, Morgan Flynn, Leary, Monroe, Landgraab, Vasquez, Nelson, Idaho, Zhang, Burton, etc. Other times you get some of the default sims but others are replaced with new sims. Sometimes the default sims live in different houses or live with a different family. Also, the new sims can be clones of the default sims but have different names.

You'll notice this more often as you create new games. Also if you read the newspaper, sometimes you read that a new family has either moved in to the neighborhood or for instance The Cliques where Morgan Flynn, Cevin Faron and Rain Leary usually live have moved out. Sometimes you'll even read the birth of a new baby or the death of a sim.

In one of my games I don't have ANY ghosts at the cemetery, meaning no one has died. I play with aging off but that was the first time that there were no ghosts/deaths at the cemetery.

Another thing, some of the new sims can be NPC's. I've met a Repo Man, Maid & Pizza guy as new sims that live in the neighborhood. Obviously all 3 were met on different game saves.

Wow Thanks!

I was just hoping nothing was wrong my game, on an off note, how do I read the newspaper?

Also, how many Sims can you have in one household on the console version of the game?

Thanks again!

To read the newspaper all you have to do is pick it up and choose the "Read" option. You'll eventually get a message alert (top right corner - R2 for full message) that will say random things. Usually the important ones like sims who move in or out for example are shown first. While sports are last, since they are there just for fun.

Sims moving in or out will usually give you the names of those sims. As does the birth or death of sims. In one of my games I was reading the newspaper and Nelson's wife Roxy had died from drowning at the community pool. Which freaked me out because the night before I was swimming with her and when I left she was playing the "hold your breath" game with Trevor Burton. After work I visited the Nelson household and talked to Mr. Nelson and I received the "comfort" and "console" options. He would also get a thought bubble with a very depressing looking face. Sometimes it would be a crying face and sometimes he would have his wife's image appear. Broke my heart. I hung out with him the rest of the night till I had to go home. I felt so sorry for him.

For sims who move out, the great thing about that is that it means that a house has been freed up. So it's available for moving in to ...if you have the money for it and if a new family doesn't beat you to it. xD

Edit: Oops, forgot to answer your last question xD You can only create 6 sims per household/game save. Which is shown in Create a Sim mode.
