No option to make a Simbot

I'm on the last part of the opportunity to make a simbot but at the inventing table there is no option for to make it. I've done all the all the turn ins and have the Life Core.

I'm wondering if the problem might be because my Sim is a Vampire and reached level 10 inventing in like 2 minutes and hasn't learned to make anything yet. I've got him at the table now trying to learn to make something.
