My heroes don't automatically equip armor before sparring, but they do before dueling. This confuses me.

Oh, I see.  I'm not sure then.  I thought they wore armor both when sparring and when duelling, but maybe I'm mistaken.  Perhaps someone else will have more information on this.

I, too, have not seen my Sims spar with armor visibly on. But as long as the armor is equipped, it shouldn't matter.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, so therefor a little introduction. My name is Wieke, I live in The Netherlands and I'm playing the Sims Medieval for about 3 weeks now.

Right now I'm at the point that I can create a new hero sim (the Physician) and I thought it would be funny to make her (it's gonna be a she ;-)) the twinsister of my Wizard hero (since they live so close to eachother).
In the Create a Sim modus I can give her a name and create her apparence. But to make it look like they're twinsisters, my Physician needs to look like my Wizard. Unfortunately I can't remember what I gave her as a last name. And I would also be happy if I have an example the Wizards looks, so I can make my Physician look (more or less) like her.
Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance!

I found it, but I'll post my solution here, in case others may have the same problem.

I just entered a new quest, where my Wizard would be the hero. Then I let her go to the trone room, because there I can click on the chest to change her outfit. I entered the Create a Sim mode. I took a nice screenshot (key C) as a reference, and in the panel on the bottom left was a tumbnail of her face. When hovering over is, her full name appeared.
Now I can create her twinsister the Physician!

Since this wasn't the quest I originally wanted to play, I just quit without saving.

  • My sims usually get the "lovely lute" from watching the reception hall's jester, but never from my bard. I'm referring to instances where I'm playing anyone but the bard hero. Is her lute too cheap, or does she need to level up?
  • I thought the items available for purchase at the merchant hero's market were supposed to be cheaper than the village shop? They seem to be identicial. What's the point, different selection?

  • Anyone made sense out of the "finished a book" buff? Does the game keep track of which books your hero has read and you only get this buff the first time you read a particular book?

I think you are right about the better quality lute giving the 'lovely lute' buff.  I always try to get my bard a decent lute as soon as he can afford it.  The strings don't break so often if at all.

Not sure about the book.  My monarch gets that buff but then he has the scholarly trait.

All my characters get the "finished a book" buff when they read.  I rarely direct them to read - too many other things for them to do - so it's mostly something they do autonomously, and I really don't know if they get the buff when they re-read books or not.  It would be nice to know.  Maybe someone could test it?
