"Resource Trading"

What is "Resource Trading"?  When I click on a building, (in Kingdom mode) in this case the Clinic, I see my doctor, and the button to Furnish.  Below that is "Resource Trading" with two buttons, one says,"5 RP for 200XP" and the other, "5RP for $150" 
What do these mean?  I've clicked on the buttons earlier in the game (was the Throne Room, I think) but nothing seemed to happen except a whole bunch of my RP points went away!

I downloaded this game from the EAStore, and although I finally did get a .pdf copy of the manual out of them, I don't see anything in it that explains what these buttons are, and what they do! 
Can anyone help?

I haven't tried this, Phyrie, as I really haven't played the game much since the patch.  But I assumed that it was an option allowing you to trade RP for either money or experience.  I would expect your doctor to gain either experience or money when you click those buttons - did that not happen?

I have no idea!  I am totally new (just got the game yesterday) and didn't know what to look for.  I am pretty sure that I should have kept those RP points rather that spend them willy-nilly on who-knows-what!  LOL!  I have ordered the BradyGames guide, but it won't be here for a week or so, so I was hoping someone could let me know what "resource trading" was in the meantime.

Resource trading is something that was added with the latest patch - at least, I don't remember seeing it before.  If it works like I think it does, I guess you'd use it if you had extra RP and wanted your sims to have the money or the gain in experience.  But if you want to learn more about the game, in addition to the information here in the forum, there's also Carl's Sims Medieval Guide which has a lot of information, here:

Thanks.  I've checked the guide, but there doesn't seem to be any reference to resource trading.

No, I imagine that's because it just came out in the recent patch.  We're all still learning about it.

The 'RP' that is spent for either the money or XP for any of your Heroes comes from the Monarch.  If your Monarch has enough RP then you can spend some of it to give your Heroes some extra cash or to help level them up.

Beware though if you need the RP for more buildings or to make more countries allies as the RP goes fast.

wow, I missed this in the patch notes.  That is pretty cool, I am almost done with an ambition, but I want to level my blacksmith up fast to make a doomsword to give to my hero I will send to a 'brave new world'.  I have a ton of RP that I know I wont use.  Very cool!

Quite a neat function if you ask me. My heroes usually need some free XP, and I have tons of RP, so...
