Problem visiting households with the electric gate.

When trying to visit a house that has an electric gate my sim the buzz them from the call box and I then get a message saying Sorry, We don't know you. Please leave
When this first started happening I would get that message but they would still come out and invite me in, but lately they've stopped doing that and just leave me standing there.

I'll be best friends with the people living there and in one case it's even my own daughter saying she don't know me. 

This only happens at houses with the electric gate. Not having any problems when I can go to the door and ring the bell or use the call boxes at apartment buildings.

Has anyone else had this problem? Only solution I can thing of is to go through town and take out all electric gates.

Are you friends with everyone in the household?  I've noticed that if my friend isn't home, that anyone who is won't let me in, even if my sim has been there before.

Yes, I know everyone in the houses. They're at least friends if not best friends. The house with my daughter, it's just her and her husband and he is a best friend.
I got to know everyone in the area across the bridge when doing the Architect and Stylist careers.

Taking out the electric gate at the infected houses didn't help either. When I ring the door bell no one ever comes to answer.
And I tried resetting all the sims in the households.
