That night I went to sleep, hoping to dream of my fiance and our future.
However, I had the same dream as I had each and every night.

I walk through total blackness, when I see a flickering light. It grows bigger and bigger, until I see that it's actually a person.


I walk closer, trying to see who it is, when I notice it's a ghost. I spin around to see if there is anything, or anyone, else about. We are alone. Alone in the dark.


I walk even closer. With every step, her face becomes more clear. She doesn't say anything, but I can feel that she knows me. She knows who I am.
As I go to take the final steps to reveal the rest of her face, she turns. She speaks out my name.


Chills run down my spine, as I go to turn her around. I need to see her face.
But she fades into the dark. I'm left standing there, watching her disappear.

It is here that I always wake up. I'd never seen her face; never known who she was. But this morning was different. Instead of the normal feeling of acceptance of the dream, I felt nervous. The face was familiar. It had never been familiar.
I knew this woman. She knew me. But no matter how hard I thought, I couldn't recall who she was.
