Athletic Skill Missing - Bug/Glitch?

My Sim is working on his skills and the athletic skill will not show up. He works out, jumps on a trampoline, goes jogging and the blue bar above his head is not there. I've checked his skill journal many times and it isn't there either. I'm sure it's probably a bug in the game but was just curious if this is happening to anybody else with a Sim working on skills. He lives in Twinbrook.

I haven't noticed it, but maybe you could try to send him to the stadium for a class. Maybe that will jump-start it even though I don't know why it wouldn't work with jogging. Sorry but hopefully maybe a class will work.

Hmmm...Haven't tried that yet. He started out really poor so I couldn't afford the classes. I will check to see if that works. Thanks

No vampire, I only have Ambitions. He is a criminal and he needs to build his Athletic Skill. He get's caught all the time and isn't advancing in his career very fast. I'm going to see if he can take the class at the stadium like Esther suggested. Hopefully that will work. I will post back results. Thanks to both of you.

Hey! It worked! Thanks again for the suggestion Esther, I never gave it a thought about taking the class because he didn't have the money, but, that's what it took to get it going in his skill journal. I'm glad that's all it took.

I have a sim who wants to learn Athletics. She has the athletic trait. She pumps iron. She runs on the treadmill. She does strength workouts and cardio workouts to music. She's done this to the point of fatigue. Repeatedly. Her athletic skill does not increase. ANd she's part of a family, so I really, really don't want to delete her (her daughter's still a teen).

Have you tried re-starting your game that sometimes helps.

Do you see the blue bar above her head when she is working out? When you click on the skill icon to see their progress, is the "soccer ball" icon there?

I just posted a thread yesterday about my Sim not showing athletic skill progress. I had him try every option to progress in athletic skill but he never had the blue bar above his head, nor was there the ball icon under the skill tab. A forum member helped me by suggesting that I send him to the stadium to take the athletic class to see if it would jump start the process. That solved my problem and now my Sim is building his athletic skill.

Has your Sim taken the class yet? If not, it might fix your issue as well. Good Luck.

Just curious:  how is your sim jogging if they don't have the Athletics skill at all?  They need at least one level to jog.

It must be another glitch in the game because he could do all athletic action, but never showed progress in the skill journal nor showed the blue progress bar above his head. I'm playing in Twinbrook and I've read posts on the forum that other members were experiencing odd glitches and bugs in that town as well. In my opinion I do not think it's only a glitch in Twinbrook, I think it is just another annoying glitch in the Sims game. I think I may have read another post from a member playing in Sunset Valley that was experiencing the same problem but posted under a different thread.
