I don't think a Sim will remember after being uploaded. It would be something to experiment with though

I don't think it either, but was still hoping someone could maybe confirm it.

I think Sims can get habits. I tell my sims to do stuff at the start of a game and then they start doing it on there own. Like washing hands after using the toilet or making the bed after waking up.

I've noticed that also. It was something I'd never really done, (I mean there are days that I don't care if my real life bed gets made.) but once you get them in the habit of doing something they do it. Right now one of my Sims gets up, goes to the bathroom, takes a bath and gets breakfast without any guidance.

Childish Sims will just start playing tag, and scare people. Also, Insane Sims just start talking to themselves after a few Sim Seconds, when they're standing in a corner.

Ok I've rarely seen my sims do anything without me telling them to do it. The only thing I can think of is I had a male jump into a females arms without me telling him too. Is this because I always have make needs static on? If so maybe I should make one sim and try it without it!

Yes, Esther. It's because of Make Needs Static, unfortunately. :( Sims will just stand there doing nothing. That's why I had to use Make Everyone Happy recently.

So if you want your Sims to sit still and not keep jumping up to do something, would Make Needs Static do it?  I have such trouble getting Sims to stay put when I'm trying to take a picture of them sitting!

Yep. Make Needs Static acts much like No Free Will.

Thank you!  My next attempt to photograph Sims sitting should be a lot less frustrating thanks to this information.

 >:( That's awful. I don't want to have to take care of their moods but I also want them to do stuff on their own. Ah well one shouldn't be a problem, I can still click and drag the bars!  ;D

Combined it's better. If you want your sim to freeze that's sad.

@jeanamariex3: I didn't know that. But what I do know is that the way insane sims are talking to themself mostly depends on their other traits. I use it sometimes while editing. But for some reason my sim starts to have a fight with himself. Not litterly.

Make Needs Static isn't the same as No Freewill.  With static needs, your Sim won't need to do as many things autonomously, but that doesn't mean he/she will stop doing things altogether.  Even with all needs maxed to green, my Sim doesn't just stand in the middle of the room and do nothing.  They find something to do.

Make Needs Static can act as No Freewill, however. In my unofficial dynasty (where Make Needs Static is always on), the founder usually just stands there. I've seen her in one position, controlled her husband or Agnes for several sim hours, and when I go back, she is still there. She even sits and reads skill books for ages. She's gained all the levels of gardening this way. ;D

Note: I said much like, I didn't say exactly as.
Schip, I wish you luck, because it is rather difficult to snap Sims sitting together without moving. At least my Sims won't sit for more than one Sim hour. Even with Freewill off and Make Needs Static.

I was playing an older game file last night and was doing something with one sim and was trying to find the youth.  I found him downstairs practicing writing  and he did this on his own.  I can't remember if I have ever had a sim do that particular skill on their own, so I thought that was pretty neat that a youth would do that by himself.  He actually sat there and got 3 skill points, until I finally had the poor thing go to bed. :)
