10 Poker Flats (Twinbrook) Lot Flattening
« on: May 01, 2011, 06:38:05 PM »
I'm having trouble trying to figure out a way to place a pre-made house on the 10 Poker Flats lot in Twinbrook. The house I'm trying to place is one of the featured houses in the intermediate building tutorial by TommyT (it's The Getaway, if anyone's interested) and if I put it so that the driveway and front door face the street, the house sinks into the ground and my sims can't get into it.

I think the problem has to do with the land that the lot has. It's kind of split into a higher level by the road and a lower level near the water. So far I've tried leveling the ground and flattening the lot in Edit Town, but even if I do that before I place the house, it still makes the house sink into the ground. It's like the game doesn't recognize the higher ground level.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can stop this from happening? I really love this house and it fits into that area of town perfectly, but I can't seem to figure out how to stop it from sinking.

We've struggled with this issue before and the short answer is, you can't do it.  However, you can place the house and use the terrain tool, smoothing, to get the land to fit.  It doesn't always work but I used this a lot in Twinbrook.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Thanks! I actually forgot all about this issue, but I'm glad you replied. Such a shame that there's no way to fix this problem!
