Can't remove teddy bear from sims inventory.

I've got a sim who is now a teenager. He's had the teddy bear in his inventory since he was first born.
When I try to remove it, nothing happens.
I can't click it or drag it, like you usually can - it's kind of like with the medical beepers, how they can't be removed.
I've tried removing everything else from his inventory and then moving it, but that didn't work either.

It's not a major problem, but I would like to remove it if possible. Does anyone know how?

Did you do something like this:
Click on the bear, and while you were dragging it somewhere, press the escape button?

If so, the same thing happened with me with LN's FX machine. Try resetsim. If that fails, I don't think you can fix it.


Just to be clear, with testingcheats on, can you shift click it and select object... delete?

I don't think I did that. It's just stuck there
I forgot to mention that it's in my dynasty game, so I won't be able to try out testingcheats on and then delete object.

Oh well, he can just spend the rest of his life with a teddy bear

It sounds like just a harmless game glitch.

I've had this problem recently too.  It was in my Riches Galore game, and I've been moving the teddy bears out of the kids' inventories before they move out.  But this particular one would not be moved out.  Oh, well.  Considering all the problems that can happen in the game, this particular glitch seems pretty minor.

I've had the same thing happen with the baseball and football.  The items are still usable, but they can't be removed from that sim's inventory at all.  Also, if that sim dies, another sim will inherit the item and won't be able to get rid of it either.  I've also heard of this happening with cars, gems, guitars, and of course, teddy bears.

It is said that deleting the cache files can fix this.  I've never been able to test this, however, as the game my problem happened in got corrupted long before I even knew about the existence of cache files.

While they're still toddlers if they sleep with they're teddies they can be put in the inventory automatically and to get them out they have to sleep again and steal it while they're asleep. Too late now but it might help in the future.

I got the exact same thing with treasure items. I can't get them out of the treasure and place them on the ground. It sometimes works, but mostly it result in that I can not open the treasure chest anymore. It's so anoying. Deleting the cach files don't work and a complete reinstallation of everything including defragmentation doesn't work eighter.
