Exactly, a way to set privacy options would be great. Each door could have a menu that allows you to set to "everyone", "friends only" or "partner only".

YES, door locks. I made the mistake of putting a bookshelf in the blacksmith's house, at one point the Smith could not get in to the shop to work because 12 townies were reading and blocking the door.

A way to deliver crafts without having to find the Sim that ordered it.  I've had several responsibilities shirked because the person I was supposed to deliver to was out of touch in the village for several (like 8) hours.  Deliver to the post box maybe.

No additional responsibilities for "Dedicated" Sims if the Hero is already exhausted.

Having Actions stay in the queue until accomplished or canceled. Again when delivering crafts when time is short If the target Sim is busy (talking, dancing, etc) the deliver action can get canceled because the target is busy if you are running a quest with multiple Sims its easy to shirk the responsibility because you miss the fact that the action was canceled.

Some way to tell the bard to "Get Lost".  Lots of times when the active SIm is trying to accomplish a task the bard shows up and has the target dancing and ignoring the Active Sim.  I had one quest where the Spy was supposed to  eavesdrop on the "rat king" and the bard kept him dancing so he would not talk or listen.  Even when I sent the Queen to talk to the "rat king" he would stop listening before the Spy could complete the "Eavesdrop". I finally had the Queen send the Bard to the stocks to get rid of her.

2. A mobile camera like in TS2 and TS3!!!!!!!!! Please!

You can have a more mobile camera than just follow hero, or kingdom view, what you need to do is click the follow hero, or view location(e.g. path to village) then use folowing controls;

w - pan forward
a - pan left
d - pan right
s - pan back

ctrl+w rotate camera up (all the way up to top down view is posible)
ctrl+s rotate camera down (same as above, but down to "eye" level)
"." is rotate as is ","
z seems to be zoom in, as are mouse wheel controls

I have a little different take on this question. I've been a die-hard Sims player ever since Sims 1 came out eons ago. I moved on to Sims 2 when it came out, even though I felt I hadn't really 'accomplished' everything in Sims 1 (still had custom items to load, play achievements to complete, etc.). And I decided not to get Sims 3 for pretty much the same reason. Just had too much money and time invested in Sims 2 and hadn't come close to getting where I wanted to be in the game.

I decided to get Sims Medieval because I thought 'Great, I can take out all the custom medieval stuff in my Sims 2 game', since it was pretty complicated to get Neighborhoods to look right with asphalt roads, modern telephones, etc. without a lot of hacks (which I try to stay away from). And that would give me room for more modern custom stuff in Sims 2!

Imagine my surprise to find out you couldn't really build anything yourself, download custom objects and skins or switch around to play different Sims when you wanted to. But what I did discover was the FUN of just playing the game without being side-tracked for hours loading and testing custom stuff or building & decorating houses and shops. I can just put the game disk in and disappear into the game for a few hours. When I play Sims 2, I have to turn off virus protection, disconnect from the internet and close unnecessary applications just to give me room to play (LOTS of custom!!). You pretty much have to plan to spend the day buried in Sims 2 and ignoring the rest of the world and then restart everything when you want to rejoin real life.

I'm still learning the tricks and nuances of the game, but I've adopted a very different attitude and approach to Sims Medieval. It's my play for fun game, where as Sims 2 is my work to play game. I've only been playing for a couple of weeks but I've already maxed out my monarch, knight and peteran priest and the blacksmith is well on his way. And when I want to build and decorate I just go back to Sims 2 (for some of you that might be Sims 3). I do agree that horses would be nice to have along with a privacy door. It's very distracting when the wizard in standing in your backsmith's shop yelling out his spells and incantations while you're trying to make him a staff!

That's just my two cents!!

Welcome to the forum, nbklsl3.  As you say, Sims Medieval and Sims 3 (or Sims 2) are quite different games.  The basic Sims game, version 2 or 3, has much more scope and more things to do.  But Sims Medieval is quite beautiful, the characters with their flaws are appealing, and the game has its charms.  The main drawback is that the focus on quests does get repetitive.  Hopefully the Pirates expansion pack will bring back some of the initial excitement that the game had.

Thanks for the welcome! This looks like a great forum and just reading through previous posts, I've picked up a few more tips!

And yes, I'm looking forward to the new Pirates Exp Pack, although I stll have a long way to go with just the basic game!

Glad you're enjoying the forum, Linda.  And thanks for sharing your name - it's a lot easier to spell than the username you chose!  :D

For those of you complaining about random Sims invading your Sim's space and getting in the way: Good News!!  The new patch adds a "Privacy" option.  You can now set a room to your Sim only, your Sim's family, or other options I can't remember right now!  So no more bursting into your Sim's bedroom when they're having a bath, and other annoyances!  Yee haw!

My son in law gave me this a few months ago as I am an avid Renaissance festival and pirate festival playtron.  I was loath to load it because I didn't have the time to learn a new game.  I'm a die hard SIMS II fan and after reading some things about SIMS III decided not to switch up.  In any case, I finally loaded the game yesterday morning.  It is hugely different than SIMS II.  This is what has bugged me so far.

I was not expecting that I couldn't build.  Sometimes I think half the reason I play SIMS II is because I like to plan and build and decorate.

I too wish that the game had horses, but I just speed up the time and make them run their butts off.

I wish that SIMS could use all the objects.  As an example, I'd like for my monarch to be able to play the lute.

I dislike that in a single game, you can only control up to 10 Hero SIMS.  I'd like to control my maid, and that idiot adviser.

I dislike that when I send a SIM off to patrol, or on the ship, or even to shop, I can't see where they end up.  One of the things I enjoy about SIMS II is sending them into town to eat out, or go bowling, or go shopping.

I AM super digging on the monarch's ability to send people to the stocks or the pit.  Tee, hee!

At this point, I'm finding the game amusing, but it sort of reminds me of Monkey Island on steroids.  I don't feel like I have enough god-like control.  However, I do plan to purchase the Pirates and Nobles module when it comes out at the end of August.

Welcome to the forum, Skitzoid Lady.  Yes, I think a lot of people - myself included - are looking forward to the Pirates and Nobles expansion to bring back the game's interest.

I played Sims2, also, as have a lot of the members here.  I liked it a lot, but Sims3, though far from perfect, really spoiled me for Sims2.  After playing with an open plan town, I found it too frustrating to be confined to a single lot and having those load times any time my Sims went anywhere.  But I'm glad you're still enjoying the game.  There are a lot of great features in it that we don't have (yet) in Sims3.

How does one do this? I clicked on the door & it says no interactions.... Do I have to be in kingdom mode or something? I was in live mode when I tried it. Thanks....

Unlike in Sims3, you don't click on the door itself.  If you click on the floor in the room, the option to set privacy options should appear.
