Surrounded by Family LTW Walkthrough

On the discription of the Surrounded by Family Lifetime wish walkthrough it says something like "dont adopt because you cant adopt infants" but in the walkthrough didnt Pam's second child come from the adoption place? Or am i confused with another guide?

Pam did adopt for her second child while she was pregnant with her second biological child, but the wish is to raise 5 babies to teenagers and with the adopted child she had 6 kids. Therefore, she still completed the wish because she had 5 biological children.

I know, but on the description it says you can't adopt babies referring to it's impossible to adopt babies.

The adopted child did count toward the five children for the Lifetime Wish.  The wish was completed when the fifth child aged to teenager and I still had one who was a child.  Where exactly does it say that you can't adopt for this Lifetime Wish?  We need to get it corrected.

I always thought the game was a little bit biased against gay people. Does this mean that gay couples can't complete that LTW because they'd have to adopt?

No no no! OK, let me explain.

You know where it has all the lifetime wishes and it has links to the walkthroughs, read the description for Surrounded by Family. Carl says you can't adopt babies. He made a mistake, you can adopt babies and you can adopt them for the lifetime wish. I think he was under the impression that you couldn't.

And I'm pretty sure you can have a same-gender couple achieve the lifetime wish by adoption. Sorry, I didn't properly explain myself before.

That's not what I said at all.  The adopted child in my family DID count toward the Lifetime Wish.  I'm sure that any Sim can adopt five children, as long as they are infants, and raise them to teenagers to achieve the Surrounded by Family Lifetime Wish.

Thanks for the heads up, this has been corrected. I don't know how I missed infants on there, I guess I've only adopted a couple of times

No, you can adopt an infant.  When you do an adoption, you choose the gender and the age.  You don't get to choose what the baby looks like, though.

Yeah I knew you couldn't pick the looks or traits, I just didn't realize you could actually adopt an infant. Then again, I've never adopted in-game and I seem to remember reading somewhere (not this site) that it was impossible to adopt an infant. Maybe it was the Prima guide.

Still. I think it's just because gay couples can't somehow make children. I know that wouldn't make any sense, but like... I feel like they're so accepting of other couples... Maybe they should make a lifetime happiness reward object that would let any two sims make children (like the make a baby in the Sims 2 CAS... Is that in the Sims 3 CAS too?) via the stork.

You can make same sex parents in CAS, but you can't mix genes. You could make them close, but it won't let you mix up the genes when you click for a new Sim and there's the dummy that you click to mix genes.
