Hi... forum noob, here. I really don't like using the 'cheat' console in the game, but I admit, I have had to sometimes to reset a stuck Sim.

I had a really badly timed stuck Sim once; wish I'd captured it to show here. One of the NPC Sims died while waiting for a cab outside the bookshop in Bridgeport... I'd sent one of my Sims to buy a book and then come home, but they never did! When I went to bookshop to check, she and all these other NPC Sims were staring and mourning at this floating ghost waiting on the curb for a cab. The ghost wouldn't move on and neither would anyone else, although they were all still animated. I bit the bullet, reset the Sim... and then a few days later, I see her reading a book in the park, alive and well! Or so I thought! Every time my Sim or a NPC came near her, the mourning thought bubble would appear above their heads! ZOMBIE SIM! I worried how this would affect the gameplay from there on, so I reset the Sim again and I haven't seen her since.

Has anyone else experienced this, that if you reset a ghost Sim, they come back to life... so to speak? Bear in mind, mine was a NPC and recently deceased and stuck. I imagine the odds of forcing this scenario would be quite tricky in order to test it, but I swear it really happened! Has anyone else experienced it by any chance?

You might want to edit the first post to include the reset all command below:

resetSim *

This is a must know for anyone experiencing the Bridgeport bugs. ::)

You should probably delete the * before your thank you for the picture, or people might get confused and think that the command is just resetSim rather than resetSim *

Lol. Hadn't noticed that. Maybe I shouldn't be doing these things on a Friday night.

Reset sim didn't work for me?? My family returned from China and all FOUR of them are blended into the one Sim, standing in the middle of nowhere miles away from their home. Zombie family!  :o None of them can move or do a thing. aaahh. I tried to reset them as individuals and as resetsim * but didn't move

Actually I don't think resetting them will help, as they are reset in the same place, they just drop the action they were doing. Seeing as your Sims weren't doing anything, I think resetsim is useless. Have you tried commanding them to walk somewhere or do something?

If you have a Teleporter you could try using the mobile option 'teleport home'?

Normally, Resetsim sends Sims back home.

If nothing works and if you can access Edit Town, try to move the family to the clipboard (without home) and then move them back in their home (or another one). They should be back home like that.

It doesn't for me. It just resets my Sim wherever they are (at home or at the park), canceling all current or scheduled actions.

Come on, guys.  This isn't really a conversation thread.  It's just to give information.  If someone needs specific help about a problem, it needs to be addressed in its own thread.  We don't want someone to have to weed through all of this stuff thinking there's something else to be found that's not in the original post.
