Sims 3 Launcher has stopped working

OK, I have a problem here. My EA download manager is up to date but whenever I start a Sims 3 game, an annoying message pops up which says that the Sims 3 launcher has stopped working. I am able to run the game fine though but my question is, how do I prevent this message from appearing?
