I currently have 3 households that I actively switch between, but when I switch out, one of the other houses loses its family and is unoccupied. I don't understand!!! Please help!

Hi Sarah. Welcome to the forums. I did some active household switching as a test when an issue came up in the Perfectly Happy Challenge. I had never done it before and I basically just clicked on various buttons to see what happened. When I went to the Main Menu my test family was gone, so I had to rename the backup file to bring them back. Sounds like what's going on with you. But, I'm weak in the tech area and don't remember exactly what I did. Pam and others are more knowledgeable, so wait and see what they say.

I'm not sure but this is what I think. Reload the game and you will go to your neighbourhood. Press the button "Play an existing family" and select your family's lot. Click on play and you will be able to play you family. If you can't, this sounds like a bug...

Do you mean that one of your three households disappears from their house while you're playing a different household?  If so, it may be the new story progression in the game.  Households move around a lot more than they used to.  If you aren't controlling the family, they are autonomous and can do whatever they want.  It's very possible that they moved out of town or moved to another house.

I would save each family to the library at the end of playing with them- then if they get moved etc you can at least get them back somewhat- relationships will be lost tho sadly.

Just be aware that if you re-install your game the library is gone so make sure you place each family and then save a saved game to transfer to your new installation.

Always use "save as" and rename your game each save.  I have 5 saves and I rotate.

Hope this helps  :)
