To me, the quests are a lot like the tombs in World Adventures - fun the first time, but not something I'd want to do over and over.  The Sims 3, with no fixed goals to achieve, gives players such freedom to set their own objectives and play style, and that's why it doesn't get stale - there are just so many different things to do.  I do like the challenge of trying to achieve the different Ambitions, and the Achievements add a bit of fun as well.  But I just don't think Sims Medieval has quite as much scope for long-term play as Sims 3.

As I'm getting further into my second Ambition, I'm starting to wonder if managing the Heroes gets harder in general as we move along.  I've had the absolute worst luck with my Knight this time around.  She gets mauled a lot and often loses fistfights and swordfights.  Of course, once she loses one, she continues to lose until she's healed.  But even when she's in good health she still has trouble with all of that.  Her traits are Bloodthirsty, Chivalrous, and Unkempt.  So, if the Heroes get harder and harder to manage, that would help keep some interest in the game as we play the Ambitions.

It seems to get easier each time for me, but maybe that's only because my first kingdom was absolutely horrendous.

That's exactly how I felt about it.  It's like WA with a lot of restrictions and more "been there, done that". One thing that drove me crazy was how much time I was spending in fast forward going from place to place.

yes, the travel times are awful! I'm still playing it, but I'm losing interest.

I am already SO bored with starting kingdoms over and over.  Doesn't look like the new expansion pack for Sims 3 is going to be very exciting, either.  I'll try it, but with the last one I couldn't play my game for s month!  Maybe it is time to spend some time with my husband!
