Fantastic update Rica! The little toddlers must be hell for the family. That gnome memorial is amazing! How many of your gnomes have died!!
Malcolm and Angelica are still really cute!

At least 12 when I made the graveyard for them and I think at least one more since.

Alicia was a bit of a goody two-shoes but Cassandra wasn't.   I just feel sad that I didn't get to tell their story as well as the others because of bug issues.

In the middle of the night after the birthday party was all put away.  Furniture fairies visited the Grims and left presents for generation 4.  Simon got an easel in his favorite color and Astrea got the oven that Bella used to use to feed Artie when Aggie was mad at him.


Rica: "Hello."
Astrea: "Hello."
Rica: "Like the new toy?"
Astrea: "I love it.  I'm going to make some organic blueberry muffins."
Rica: "How exactly do you make organic muffins from a toy oven muffin mixture?"
Astrea: "Sorry, only the eco-friendly know that answer and if I told you, they'd turn me into compost and I don't know what they'd do to you.  But I bet it wouldn't be pretty."
Rica: Insanity might just be a hidden trait after so many generations…


Rica: "I see you like your new toy too."
Simon: "This is far from a toy, Rica.   This is a very specific instrument in my creative process. "
Rica: "Uh huh.  And what exactly is your creative process producing at this moment?"
Simon: "This is a picture of Astrea and myself when we get older."
Rica: "You don't need glasses."
Simon: "But I might.  Things like that happen to old people."
Cassandra: "I seriously doubt you'll need glasses, hun."
Simon: "We'll see."


Artie: "Grr.  I'll get you my pretty and your little fabric softener too.  What?  You don't think I will."
Rica: "That's a face." -takes photo-
Artie: "Be quiet fiend.  or I'll.  I'll.. I'll use the vacuum cleaner on you."
Rica: "Hey Artie.. I got a present for you."
Artie: -suspicious- "What kind of present?"
Rica: "It's this pretty white jacket you wear backwards."
Artie: "No.. I will not fall for that again." -runs out of the laundry room and slams the door-
Rica: -sigh-


Alicia: "That's very good.  Now if you have two trains heading towards each other…"
Rica: "Man do you math people know any other problems?"
Alicia: "Excuse me?"
Rica: "Nothing.. just memories.  Why not let Simon go back to painting and you go track down your own child for some tutoring.  Wouldn't want them to at different levels."
Alicia: "Actually, that's very true.  Ok Simon.  You're free to go."

Simon: "Way to go Mom. "
Cassandra: "Thank you baby.  Now to keep pushing until I get all the challenges."
Simon: "You can do it."
Rica: -whisper- "Man.. why's he gotta be so cute?"


Bus Driver: "Good Morning children.  Ready for your first day of school?"
Astrea: "Hello.  Of course we are."
Simon: -whispers- "She is way too perky."
Astrea: "Miss.  Have you ever heard of Angelica or Alex Grim before?"
Bus Driver: "I'm sorry but no.  I just moved here from China."
Astrea: "Interesting.."


Rica: "If you complain.. they will call.  I was just telling my sister that I didn't know why you guys had never gotten a gig.  Now you have two at the same time and place."
Artie: "Shut it woman.  Trying to rock here."


Simon was signed up for Scouts.  He got several badges on his first day!


On her first day of Ballet, Astrea learned how to plié.


Rica: "Aww.  My first gnome nooboo just had a gnome nooboo." -sniff-
Jenni the First: "I promised myself I wouldn't cry and you're making it really hard for me."
Rica: "Sorry.  I can't help it.  Number 1 gave us Number 5."
Jenni the First: "Ok.. it's time to rejoin the others." -poof-
Rica: -clears throat- "Ok now I'm embarassed a little." -calls out in her sweet voice- "Oh Artie..."
Artie: "Go away woman."

Love all the updates you've done! Simon is so cool, or maybe I just always wanted a hat like his.  Artie is just hilarious:

Simon: "Hey Mom.. check this out." -chuckles-
Cassandra: "Well aye aye captain." -salutes back-
Simon: "Guess what else I learned."


Simon: "And then the rabbit goes through the hole and ta-da! A knot."
Cassandra: "That's very impressive.  What else did you learn at Scouts?"
Simon: "Nothing else today.  Ask me again Thursday."
Cassandra: -chuckles-  "Ok.  Let's go finish your homework and get dinner."


Rica: "Don't you like fishing in your pond, Angel?"
Angelica: "Normally, but Rhett keeps saying stuff to me."
Rica: "Rhett is dead, Angel."
Angelica: "That's what he wants you to think.  Can you put him in the fence with the others?"
Rica: "Sure thing. "


Simon: -whispers- "That's not our bus driver."
Rayne Ursine: "Shh.  Just sit back and we'll arrive at the cemetery soon."
Astrea: "Hello Mr. Bus Driver.  "
Rayne Ursine: "Astrea, sit back and leave the nice man alone."
Simon: -whispers- "Maybe we shouldn't have told your grandma our bus driver didn't know her."


Rayne Ursine: "Astrea!  Wait for me!"
Simon: -giggle- "Why are we visiting the mausoleum again?"
Rayne Ursine: "I don't know but stay close.  Astrea put down that skull!"
Astrea: "Aww man."


Alicia: "So you see it's only logical that if you want plants indoors that you should put them in pots where they can get the nutrients they need from soil and to keep them watered without making a mess in your house."
Alex: -thinks, nods- "Mhm.  Ok I can see that."
Rica: I kind of feel for Alex that he gets to be Alicia's guinea pig in his last days while she strives for supermaxing.  


Alicia: "Another emergency taken care of but at least I got a promotion out of it."
Rica: "Congratulations Dr Grim, Gene Therapist."
Alicia: "What time is it?" -yawn-
Rica: "1 am."
Alicia: "Ugh."


Alicia: "Bottoms up."
Rica: "You sure those things are safe.. you've been practically living off them.."
Alicia: "Of course they're safe, I'm a doctor and I made it.  It's just to help me sleep better, faster."
Rica: "Yes but I'm concerned."
Alicia: "Your concern has been noted.  Good night Rica."
Rica: "Hmph.  Good morning Alicia."


Rica: "Hey.   What are you two whispering about?"
Simon & Astrea: -giggles, nod to one another-

Ooh, the suspense!

Simon: -whisper- So were you able to get two from the junkyard?
Rica: "What did you say?"
Simon: "I said I can't believe it's your birthday to Astrea."
Rica: "Oh well I guess it is.."


Astrea: -whisper- "Were you able to get the two from the store?"
Rica: "Huh?"
Astrea: "I said.. That means it must also be yours."
Rica: "Yep.  You two were born minutes apart. Now let's get on those pajamas and go to bed eh?"
Simon: "Ok Rica."

-children change clothes and climb into bed.....-

Rica: "Hey.. who is out of bed?"


Rica: "Wait a minute!  What are you two doing?!"
Simon: "Rica do you have to watch everything we do?"
Rica: "Yes.. I'm a watcher."
Astrea: "Stop yapping and make a break for it!"


Simon: "Whoo! The plan is going to work."
Rica: "What plan?"
Astrea: -groan- "Go away woman."
Rica: "Now you listen here, missy.  I will not take that tone of voice from more than two people in this household."


Rica: "Wait.. you two can't do that!"
Simon: "Says who?"
Rica: -sigh- "Where did you get the tables?"
Astrea: "Got both at the junkyard this week after school."
Simon: "And when I had to do a report on the store yesterday, I grabbed two cakes."
Rica: "Oy.  I'm not saving you from trouble this time.  Now make a wish."
Astrea: "Done and Done."


Simon: "And awaaaay I go..."


Simon: "Hey.. sup?"
Astrea: "My turn.."
Rica: "Not too bad... Rebellious.. check."


Astrea: "...my turn."
Simon: -resists urge to pick up cake and pulls out party horn-
Rica: "You know.. keep making noise and you'll wake up the house!"


Astrea: "Ta-da!"
Simon: -jaw goes slack-
Rica: "Green thumb.. check. Whoa.. hey.  Need a jacket."


Astrea: "What are you staring at?
Simon: "Oh uh.. nothing.."
Astrea: "Well I'm going to go to bed now. Remember you lost the toss so you have to clean up the cake."


You two are so sweet when you sleep.  Too bad that's not going to save you when the others wake up..

Hehe, Glad I started this trend then.  Both Teens turned out very well, although I wonder why they had to age up in secret?

Rica: "C'mon now.. Hurry Hurry.  I'd like to have you properly attired before he wakes up again."
Astrea: "What's the rush?"
Rica: "You're the one that had to have a birthday in the middle of the night."
Astrea: "Well of course, how else would we get a three day weekend?"
Rica: -giggles as she falls-  "That's what this is about?  A three day weekend?"
Astrea: "Duh. Oh and Rica.."
Rica: "Yes dear?"
Astrea: "I'm changing my favorite color to purple?"
Rica: "Wait.. what?  Why?"
Astrea: "Because spice brown is so hagness."
Rica: "I wouldn't ever say that in front of your great grandfather."
Astrea: "What's he gonna do - hit me with his cane?"
Rica: "That would be the least of your worries I think.. Here try on this dress."


Ta-da!  It was a struggle between our personalities and she won.  No surprise.  She's a Grim.


Simon was much easier to get situated.  Of course, when Simon and I left the dressing room.  We had an unexpected surprise.


Alicia: "I can't believe you two would be so irresponsible as to think it would be alright to have a private party in the middle of the night! Cassandra has been planning a party for Simon's birthday for a week!"


Astrea: "Did you two ever stop to think that we didn't want a party with our grandparents and everyone watching us grow up? Maybe we don't like being paraded around like show dogs for all of Sunset Valley to see.  It's bad enough we can't walk outside without a paparazzi taking our picture." -mocking voice- "Oh Look it's Astrea Grim, the daughter of Dr. Alicia Grim and Musician Wilbur Grim.  Do you even stop and consider how hard it is to have your mother constantly working all the time? Or how bad it makes me feel that I was the first Grim to not be born red like you.  Like I failed the family!"


Alicia: "I will not be talked to in that tone of voice.  You are grounded until you apologize.  Also - pack up your books.  You're moving into the room next to your great grandfather.  There is no way you are sleeping in the same room together.  Especially after this - Cassandra was so upset this morning, you're lucky that she didn't talk me into sending you both away to separate boarding schools!  If you're lucky, we'll teach you to drive before you're 40."
Astrea: "Mom.. I.."
Alicia: "Please Astrea.  Here's a gardening book.  Why don't you read this for a while and I'm going to go calm down Cassandra.  You guys really hurt her -pause for effect- and me." - goes upstairs-

That day the kids both spent all their free time on their day off from school at home.  Astrea got a couple of pointers from the gardening book and then went outside to weed the money trees and plant some seeds.  Simon spent most of the day at his easel.  Somewhere in the evening hours, he realized he wanted to be like his mother and her uncle before her.  He wanted to be a Renaissance Sim.


That night.. In separate rooms with no help from me on what to dream about..
