What a horrible bug Rica; I really hope it will sort itself out but I'm not sure if it's in a bug's their nature to be so kind on the player.

Meanwhile this was another great update!

I can't get enough of those two toddlers, they're so endearing. When I saw them mauling their dolls like that I immediately had to chuckle because I could hear Recipe (Metro's Man Dynasty) doing a voice-over on space monsters, raising shields, and a spread of photon torpedos!

Update without being an update:  I am having to go back to a previous save of this file to before the point where I sent the family overseas to fix their inventory.  So I'll have messed up inventories but I won't have the entire town on the beach (maybe).  I will also keep control of Alex (the new problem of last night). I will have some catching up to do because I sent the family overseas right after the girls were born.

Here is an update full of toddler cuteness to make up for the lack of updates this weekend.  Plus it doesn't matter where I am in my game the girls lives won't change.
Sadnote: The beach problem is going to happen no matter what.  It started earlier in my files than I thought with only a couple of people it just steadily grew worse. Let's hope I keep control of Alex or the dynasty is doomed.


Bella: (in nursery) "Rica?  Do you see Cassandra?"
Rica: "No.. let me look through the house."
Cassandra: -giggles-
Rica: "Well there you are."
Bella: "Where is she?"


Rica: "No wonder she was hiding, you evil awful man!"
Artie: "Mmm strawberry."


Bella: "Come on big girl.  Just stand up for me."
Cassandra: "Ok Mama.."


Malcolm: "See there you go, sweetheart.  Stand up tall like a big girl."
Alicia: "No let go."
Malcolm: "It's ok.  I'm right here.  I won't let you fall I promise."


Bella: "There you go!  Who's Mommy's big girl?"
Cassandra: "Me!"
Rica: "You're excited now but in a couple of hours you won't be able to catch her."


Alicia: "Daddy I did it!"
Malcolm: "Always knew you could, sweetheart."
Rica: "Yay Alicia!  You learned how to walk like a big girl."


After learning how to walk and getting a bath, both girls plop down on the back deck to get in some final reading before their big birthday tomorrow.   They're finally ready to take on….. the Bus Driver.

I think everyone adores Alicia and Cassandra. Who doesn't want to snuggle beautiful todders like those two? I'd also like to point out Alicia's face after she learnt to walk. I took one look at it and, BAM, my heart melted.

I've tried a lot of things and nothing is stopping these people from going to the beach.  It's that same bug that hits from Late Night where everyone goes to Eugi's or something like that.  It's not annoying and my game isn't pausing because the beach doesn't close and there's no elevators to break.  I've just done what I can for the fine people of Sunset Valley by providing everything I can think of.  Most people go to work unless it's a job from Ambitions - Stylists show up for work but then leave, Consignment Specialists do the same. 
 
 
I have finally been able to reach a comfortable place for me without the family disappearing.  It required going back before the travel so it was indeed the travel bug that was the problem.  I went through several expansions without getting it and managed to get it right after the patch that was supposed to fix it.  Go figure.
 
Artie's world is a little different but not much since I had to go back a week.  Emma Hatch is still with us.  (she died of starvation due to being on the beach for days) The girls are still the exact same though.  Actually it's not very different from the way it was.  Only one of the twins went through a mid life crisis, It was Angie of course.   
 
I'm going to get a little further in my gameplay since I had to go back over a simweek and then the Grims will be back in action.  YAY! *\o/* -confetti & dancing-  The best part is my monitor survived the whole ordeal, too!

So is it fixed now? I know what it feels like to have to keep going back to try and fix it all. I just did that and spent a whole Weekend doing that and catching up!

I've decided the beach will never be fixed - as Metro said - it's inconvenient not game breaking.

Otherwise everything is A-Ok!  I haven't lost anyone yet like I did numerous times this past weekend.   Basically the actual problem was that I was losing control of a Sim.  They'd get the green square with no picture on the UI and when I selected a different Sim I would not be able to re-choose that Sim.  At first it was just Alex, then the next two times I tried it was half the family!  That's no longer happening.

As I said before Emma Hatch does indeed still remain.  Her vampirism will hopefully keep her around until I decide which generation will be the cook of the family.  


We also went ahead and bought the beach.  I did it before the crowd started showing up.  There were already people here but I moved them out of my camera shots!  This is an overview shot.

The new kids play area for the kids.  They get a sandbox otherwise why bring them to the beach.  Also in the back is a dancing area for the adults.


Angelica decided to go with a dark ocean colors to decorate the beach. We added four picnic tables, extra lounge chairs, a professional bar, two buffet tables, two hopscotch courts.  We're now up to 3 chess tables and a seaside fire pit.


For the Hungry Vampire in all of us there is a fridge, plus with those that like to cook they have some counter space over here. Eight bathrooms and four sinks should cover all of Sunset Valley right?


Silly people never go home so we did a refurbish within 24 Sim hours.  The fridge is now over by one of the grills and we've added bunkbeds above the bathrooms.  No one ever uses them but we were nice enough to offer!  I mean if you don't like what we're offering go home!  /sigh> I wish they would.


Alex: "Hepp!  Hepp!"
Rica: "Maybe you shouldn't have stuck your tongue to the ice!"
Alex: "Ow.  I just wanted to try it."
Rica: "Well now you know.  Oh hey.. look at that.  You just maxed sculpting.  Only 10 more ice sculptures to go!"
Alex: "Awesome.  Then I can finally immortalize my beloved."
Rica: "That's so sweet."


Angelica was the only one with a mid-life Crisis but it felt wrong to deny Alex his car from the other time line.  So they got matching pastel Renaults.


For kicks old Sims tend to do weird things, Artie here finally learned how to shuffle faster than his glow.

Artie: -thinks- "I think I need to go clean the tub."
Artie's Glow: "I don't wanna clean the tub."

I wish they'd go home to. That happened in one of my games. Half of Bridgeport got stuck at Waylon's Haunt all throwing up and peeing pants. I wasn't pleasant.
