Artie's Dynasty

The day finally came when the twins would reach adulthood.  It's also the same time that Michael became an elder.  Everyone gathered onto the party patio to cheer them on.  The guests are always the last to arrive.
 

One by One they all made their wish.
Alex: "Please keep the wrinkles away."
Angelica: "Please let me keep my hair this time."
Michael: "I wish to see my nieces reach teenhood before passing."
 

The Gnomes ended their meeting in the middle of the yard to join the party. 
Lennie the CaveGnome: "Why did he blow out the firesticks?"
Leon the French Gnome: "Oh the sparkles are coming! I can't watch!"
 

Alex: "Well that was anticlimactic."
Rica: "At least you kept your hair.  You look fabulous darling!"
Alex: "I feel.. like I need a change."
Rica: "I knew I should have wished for no MidLife Crisises."
 

Angelica: "Aw Man.  Not this hair again!."
Rica: "It's a curse that will follow you into elderhood I'm afraid."
Angelica: "You really think so?"
Rica: "At this point, yes."
Angelica: "Hrm.  I don't like this being an adult thing."
Rica: "Doh!"
 

Michael: "Hey I don't look half bad!"
Rica: "No you don't!"
Michael: "Thanks Rica.  Think Alex will still love me?"
Alex: "Of course I still love you."
 

*Toddler Cuteness Alert*
Alicia: "Wing Wing.  Wing Wing."
Cassandra: "Herro?"
Alicia: "This is 'lisha.  Is Cassie dere?"
Cassandra: "Hi Alisa."
Bunnyphone lives on!

Ricanote:  Yes I got hit with two midlife Crisis and so far they both want to move out, which is a no, and get a makeover at the salon, which is a no.  I  may just send them to the hospital to clear it up.  We'll see what else they ask for.

LOL I never thought about the fact that a mid life crisis could want to do a lot of things you can't let them do in a dynasty, next thing you know they'll be asking for a tattoo as well!

I like Michale pinstripe suit, but I'm an open fan of pinstripes, so I'm sure that comes as no surprise.

I love the bunnyphone - the girls are so cute!  Happy Birthdays all around!  Great makeover for Michael - I think Alex should give him some flowers or ask him to watch the stars so he knows the romance is still there...just sayin'. 

Sorry to hear you got stuck with a midlife crisis.  I think they will be really fun to play in a non-dynasty situation, but in my newest dynasty both Agnes and Thornton had MLCs at the same time. 

I rode Agnes's out and was able to fulfill a couple of her wishes - she wanted things like a salon makeover (NO), cut or dye hair (okay), spend $10k on a new car (okay, Chris needs wheels anyhow), spend $10k on home renovations (NO, you just spent 10k on a new car!)  Come to think of it, a lot of her wishes went against her frugal trait.

Thornton's wishes seem to stem from his commitment issues - divorce Arlynn (NO), move (NO).  I just gave him an attitude adjustment, so it ought to be interesting to see how the rest of his MLC plays out.

Oh, I'm really sorry that Mid-Life Crisis is all against the rules. I guess EA should have had a look here before creating the wishes.

Alicia and Cassie with their bunnyphones are undoubtedly one of the most adorable toddler-moments I have ever seen/read! The *wing wing* alone makes my heart melt!

Seeing how theý're part of the Grim household though, one can't help but wonder how soon bunnyphones will be replaced by mysterious pranks on the busdriver.

That whole midlife-crisis thing sounds... horrible. I'm not one to grant ym sims wishes that aren't in line with my plan for them. Having them roll ridiculous wishes like that after their birthday just plain scares me; I sure hope sims don't autonomously move out!

Alex's Mid-Life Crisis is going better than Angelica's.  He started asking for doable things.  First he wanted a new car - so he got the family's first car.  Then He wanted to plan an outfit.  So he designed himself a new formal wear.


He's already level 6 in sculpting and as Michael shows him the ice technique he starts to worry about himself.  Then he realizes that's it time to enslave himself to the cause.  He needs 25 Ice Sculptures before his beloved passes on.


Malcolm: "Look out baby girl.  Here comes…. THE CLAW!"
Alicia: "Not the Cwaw!"


Alicia: -giggling- "Stop it Daddy.. stop it."
Malcolm: -tickling- "What's the magic word?"
Alicia: "Stop Daddy Stop."
Malcolm: "I don't hear the magic word."


Rica: "Hey Big Red.. I think you need to back off the cake."
Artie: "What do you mean?"
Rica: "You're getting fat is what I mean!"
Artie: "I am not!  I've never been fat a day in my life."
Rica: "Then you don't look in the mirror very often do you?  I think you need to go back to exercising."
Artie: "Hmph.  Well that's your opinion."


Rica: "I'm glad that we decided to renovate in here. Wait.  Alex is that a coffee machine?"
Alex: "Yes.  I'm not going to sleep until I'm done my 25 Ice Sculptures."
Rica: "Obviously the caffeine is going to your brain since you forgot about the Moodlet Manager."
Alex: "I don't need to be managed.  I'm doing just fine."
Rica: "I'm gonna go get the moodlet manager and a q-tip.  Stay right there."
-a moment passes-
Rica: "Oh Angie.. I have a job for you…"


Speaking of Angie and jobs.
Rica: "Congratulations on the new promotion."
Angelica: "Thank you Rica.  I can't wait to reach the top where I can finally get the power to change some of these ridiculous outfits.  I mean just look at me!"
Rica: "As far as I can tell, it could be worse."


Artie: "Hmm.. What in the world is this one?"
Rica: "Blue Topaz… So what are you doing?"
Artie: "I want to start a gem collection since I have nothing better to do."
Rica: "Ok.  So why are you out collecting rocks instead of at home using the miner."
Artie: "Because the official Collecting Society of Sunset Valley doesn't see it as collecting gems if I use the miner.  I can count the metal I get but oh no.. not the gems.  I have to go find them out in the wild." -starts grumbling and holding his cane menacingly-
Rica: "Well I'm just going to go now before you hit yourself with that thing trying to swing at me.  Have fun!"


Cassandra: "I like to grab like dis and yank it off."


Alicia: "I like to bite it off."

It's nice to see that Alex's mid-life crisis is going well.

It's also great to see Artie out and about doing more than just show off his cane strut.

The toddlers are super cute! I wish they made a potion that kept the little ones little, longer.

I know there are a lot of readers that may or may not keep up with the Dynasty Challenge thread.

Artie's Dynasty has been hit with a strange bug where the entire town is going to the beach.  "ResetSim *" sent them home but they keep going back.  The best I could do for all these people is buy the beach and give them bathrooms and food facilities.  I'm going to spend a day or two just playing the dynasty while taking a lot of screenshots to see if this is going to become a problem.  Right now it's just an annoyance, but I don't want this to go on forever.  With them stuck, I don't know if Story Progression is actually working.    In fact, I left a cake out from a birthday party and it hadn't gone bad 15 hrs later like it should have so I'm very concerned.   I'll keep everyone posted on how this goes.  I'm giving myself until the girls become Young Adult to get a good idea of what's actually happening, and then a decision will have to be made.

Aw, I am so sorry you have been hit by such a frustrating bug, Rica! It's so nice of you to buy them bathrooms and refrigerators. You just cannot imagine how much I hate those nasty bugs. Good luck, I hope you can get it fixed - Generations sure wasn't a bug-free addition to the game, ugh.

I'm really hoping that your dynasty will be alright. At least it's not too much of a major problem at the moment, but I understand that it will be frustrating. I hope it all sorts itself out soon.

Happy birthday Alex, Angelica and Michael! Michael still looks good! The bunny phone is adorable!! I love Alex's new car and outfit! I hate it when they want to get a divorce! Artie's not fat! He's just got more to love! The girls are too adorable!! I love when they yank/bite the heads off their dolls lol. Awesome updates, I hope the bug works itself out. Generation did bring quite a few frustrating bugs. Hopefully there is a patch sooner or later, that actually fixes stuff, not break it worse.
