Artie's Dynasty

Hi!  This is going to be a dynasty I'm kind of doing on the side.  After Agnes died in my original dynasty(House of Steel; see signature), I wanted to play but I definitely didn't want to play that dynasty for a little bit so I made this game file.  If it's not too out there of a concept, I'm going to use this post as a Chapter holder and place for stats for the 8 immortals.

It was a work day.  Every day is a work day.  You ever get those days where it feels like you just keep seeing the same people over and over?  Yeah that's my work day all the time.  I'm not the only one who does my job but I don't work in an office either.  But there is a place where we occasionally all get together for a talk before duty calls.  This is where my new story begins.  

There were five of us enjoying a coffee together when Reuben mentions that he had to go get Christopher again.   We're not lying when we say this guy has to be brought in like thousands of times.   Then Tony mentions the "office gossip."  

"Did you hear he was a part of another dynasty?  Another one!"

"It seems like everyone is doing one of those things now, " I said.

Reuben gives me his normal blank stare.  "It sounds like you think they're easy.  Have you ever looked at the rules for those things?"

"Of course they're easy.  If they weren't there wouldn't be so many. I mean really how hard can it be to get 8 generations to live forever. Besides, it's not real. That's just gossip."

Reuben, Tony, Mark and Bob all looked at me like I had gone insane.  OK I was insane but they thought I had finally reached the tipping point.  

"I bet you couldn't get to generation 8."  Finally, Bob speaks up.  He was always the brave one.

"I bet you don't even get to generation 3!" Mark had to put his penny's worth on the table.

"Of course I could.  I bet Tragic Clown could do a dynasty, if they existed" I replied.  The whole conversation was starting to get to me.  I just had this feeling that I couldn't explain.  Then Deidre came over the loud speaker calling out my name.  'Great,' I thought as I waved at the guys and moved towards the boss's office.  

I stepped through at the waving of Deidre and fiddled with my uniform as I stopped in front of the desk.   "I'm here as requested, sir.  Artie at your service."

The chair never turned around but I could hear the boss clear as day when spoken to.  "I heard your little conversation in the break room a second ago.  Do you really believe that the dynasty rumor is fake?"

"Yes, sir. I do."

"And you believe that if they were real that they must be easy?"

"Y-yessir."  Suddenly, I was a little nervous.  Normally, I don't do anything to get noticed.  Life in this job is easier that way.   But now as I stood in the boss's office, I wasn't sure what to expect.

"Well then.  I have a special assignment for you.  If you complete this assignment, I'll give you a raise and three promotions above your current level.  If you fail, well.. let's just hope you don't fail hmm?"

"Of course not sir!  What's my assignment?  Is there too many babies in Barnacle Bay again?"

"I will tell you more later. Now just hold still while Deidre sticks you with this needle."  

I hadn't even noticed the assistant had walked in.  It was too late to move and I wasn't sure the boss would let me live if I had.   It was total blackness after that.  

I woke up and it's still dark as night.  I think I'm in a box or coffin or something.  I'm definitely in a truck that's moving.  What have I gotten myself into?  

Guess you'll find out when I do.

"Oh good you're going to be responsive."
"Who are you?"
"I am whatever you want to call me.  I can be the Watcher, the Voice, or you can call me Rica"
"What kind of name is Rica?"
"It's short for Erica.  Look I have some stuff to tell you before I let you out of your box"
"Who would shorten the name Erica?"
"My father?  This not the point! "
"OK, OK.  Say what you have to say then."
*Puff of air* "Fine.  Well I need you to recognize my authority as given to me by your boss."
"Meaning what exactly?"
"That you have to do what I say when I say to do it, or I let the boss know you're uncooperative and you fail the special assignment."
"Alright I recognize your authority to be bossy."
"That's as close as I'm going to get and I'll take it.  Ready to hear about your special assignment?"
"That might be helpful in my not failing it."
"Well, my boy.  You're the new founder of a Dynasty."
"Oh bother"
"Afraid so, Artie.  What's Artie short for anyway?"
"Does it matter? It's short for Artemis"
*guffaw* "You were named after the Goddess of the Hunt?  That's priceless"
"Could you let me out of my box now?"
"First I need to know what city you want?  Sunset Valley, Riverview or Twinbrook?"
"Hmm. Agnes the Hagness, Skinny Sofia, or Wait - Is there a sugar mama to be had in Riverview?
"Sugar Mama?"
"This is a dynasty right?  Well I'm going to need money!"
*snickers*  "I think you're a closet forum reader."
"I don't know what you're referring to."
"Well enjoy the box.  I'll be back later to see if you've chosen a town yet."
"How come you didn't mention Bridgeport or Barnacle Bay?"
*sigh*"I'm not a fan of Barnacle Bay.  I don't know Bridgeport very well either."
"Well go away and I'll let you know when I make a decision."
"OK, Artemis."
*sigh*

Cool concept, I think I might have an idea of who his Boss is and what he does but I'm not that sure.

*flops around to make more noise* "YO woman!"
"Well I hope that's now how you plan on meeting your new wife."
"There you are!"
"Next time click your heels three time saying Rica is a goddess."
"Eh no."
"It was worth a shot.  Did you pick what town you want?"
"Yes!  I want to go to Bridgeport.  Lots of rich people and fine women."
"Sunset Valley it is then!"
"No no no no no no no"
"I win. Now let's get you into this closet here."
*struggling sounds*
"Oh that's what you look like under that uniform"
"I feel violated."
"The boss says you can't keep the uniform."
"I'm naked!"
"Not for long.  What's your favorite color?"
"Black."
"Figures.  Maybe I should change that.  Ok let's see.."
----Two Hours Later----
"You don't look half bad, Artie."
"Why thank you.  I think.  What do I have on?"
"Those are your sleeping clothes."
"These are not pajamas.  This is completely ridiculous."
"Who's the boss?  I'm the boss.. Suck it up pretty boy."
"Just you wait till I get a dresser. "
"You're so cute.  The boss laid out some special rules for you during this Dynasty."
"Oh bother."
"Rule number one! Don't expect to travel.  I'm allowed to take one of your heirs and only one of your heirs to get stuff from China if they need it but only them and only long enough to get what they need and get out."
"Aww but I love Shang Simla."
"Stop whining.  Rule number two! All special powers have been taken away for the duration of this challenge."
*strangled noise of dislike*
"And rule number three.  You have to get a real job."
"I don't believe this!"
"Don't worry.   I got my eye on you.  Ready to leave your box?"
"Yeah.  I have a date with a Hagness."
"I can see this is going to be a lot of fun.  Alright Artie.  Ready to meet your new life?  OhandIforgottomentionyourmemoryisgoingtobealtered" [translation: Oh and I forgot to mention your memory is going to be altered]
"Wait! What!"
"See you again real soon Artie!"
*poof*

Where am I?
"Artie.."
Who is that?  Why is it so bright?
"Artie.  Open your eyes, dearheart."

"Ow. Wait a minute.  Who are you?!"
"You call me Rica and I get to tell you what to do."

*mocking* "I get to tell you what to do"
"I wouldn't do that anymore if I were you.  We have a lot to get done so I need you to check your pocket for the list of starter items that need to be handled by you."

"I have a better idea.  How about you go get it all done and I stand right here until someone gives me some answers!"
*sigh* "Second strike.  I'm being totally serious.  You're the founder of a dynasty and there is a lot of work to be done if you want to actually do what needs to be done."

"Is that all?  That's all she says."
"Artie.  Would you be quiet for a second so I can explain a few things?"

*mocking*"Be quiet so I can talk.  Do what I tell you to Artie.. do it."
"That's it.  Artie.  Look a lot closer while I show you something."

*blank stare*
"Artie…"
"How did I get in this field?"
"This is where you're starting your dynasty.  Do you remember what a dynasty is?"
"I think so.  I don't remember very much and my head hurts."
"Yeah I'm sorry about that.  What do you remember?"
"I remember.. ow.."
"Do you remember the boss?  the dynasty rules? The bets?"
"Yes."
"And you remember who I am?"
"Yes."
"They wanted to alter your memory but that just doesn't work for me so I fixed you the old fashioned way.  Here's two aspirin for the headache.  Now get to moving."
"Yes.. I must find.  What did that Man call her? Oh yea.  The Hagness."
"Her name is Agnes Crumplebottom. "
"Yeah I probably shouldn't call her a Hagness to her face huh?" 
"That would be a bad idea.  We'll be in touch.  I'll always be here watching and when I feel the need I will speak up."
"Good to know."

"Oh hi there.  I didn't see you there behind Rica.  Let me introduce myself."

"My name is Artie Grim.  I used to be a Grim Reaper but now I'm going to be a dynasty founder."

Rica: "Well that was fast you made it to Agnes' house in record time."
Artie: -mumble- "shut it woman"
Agnes: "I'd really like to get into writing one day."
Artie: "I hear you're quite the bookworm.  What's your take on art?"

Artie: "Just thought I should let you know.  I've never been arrested.  Ever. "
Agnes: "Umm.. ok."

Artie: "So I have this idea.  I think we get along great and I was wondering if you would be my sugar mama?

Agnes: "Are you insane?"
Artie: "Yes.  Yes I am."

Artie: -flirty- "If I had the cash and knew where, I'd buy you a dozen red roses, baby."
Agnes: "Tell me more."
Rica: "Don't do it Agnes.  It's a trap!"
Artie: -whisper- "go back to your hole!"
Agnes: "What was that?"

Artie: "See baby.  I told you you were tense.   Let me just rub this out right here.  How's that?"
Agnes: "Right there.  Oh yeah.  You have magic fingers, Artie."
Artie: "Not anymore but that's ok."

Rica:  "Artie, you did not stalk her into the bathroom for a kiss."
Agnes thinks: "I've had better kisses from my pillow."

Artie: "I know we just met this morning but we've been talking all day so I'm wondering if you think it would be a good idea to date?"
Agnes: "Really?  Of course I do."

Artie: "I know we just met this morning and we've only been dating for an hour but I'm wondering if you think it would be a good idea to get hitched, my beautiful rich lady?"
Agnes: "Oh Artie.. of course I do."
Rica: "Poor Agnes - I hope she rips your heart out later."
Artie: -hugs his new fiancee'- "Shh"

Artie:  "Well well what do we have hear.. Aha! Mine now kid."
Rica: "Do i hear a baby crying?  Artie.. what have you done now!"
Artie: "Getting my sweet tooth taken care of"
Rica: "That was Sandi's!  Give it back!  She's going to grow up horrifically because of you and then your heir wont be able to marry her because of bad traits!"
Artie:  "I've already got this figured out.  Sandi doesn't enter into the equation.  Just chill out."

Rica: "Please tell me you're not making her cook for you."
Artie: "Nope.  She's cooking for herself but she's making so much I thought I'd hang around to get a bite for myself."

Artie thinks:  "I love this car but I need a computer so it's got to go."

Artie: "With this ring, I thee wed."

Agnes: "Oh Artie, you've made me the happiest woman in Sunset Valley."
Artie: "Oh Agnes, you have no idea how happy you've made me."
Rica: "That I believe."
Artie: "Hey Rica.  Make yourself useful and take this car to be sold and build me a house so I can show my lovely lady here a good time."
Agnes: "Who is Rica?"
Artie: "Long story"
Rica: "You've got time.  I can wait to build."
Artie: "Go woman!  My dearest Agnes, Rica is my… guardian angel.  She'll be yours, too, now that you're a Grim."

Rica: The house took two days to build because the game crashed when I was almost done the first time.  I got so mad I shut down the game and cleaned since I hadn't really saved since the wedding.  Now the house is finished and here is a tour of what's been done so far!


^The Front yard - I know I need help landscaping.  Not so good with ideas

^Living Room - this view is from the front of the house you can see the bar in the kitchen area.

^Master Bedroom and the bathroom - I've decided to have bathrooms connecting two rooms instead of individual bathrooms.

^View of the kitchen from the back - main areas will all be black/white/gray with bright color accents. It works for now.

^Public Potty for parties and stuff.  That's the front door there to the left.

Now for the Agnes transformation.   I tried to make her look different in this dynasty from the other one.  Not sure how well I did.

Rica: "Artie - what are you doing at the Bachelors?  Are you crashing a party?"
Artie: "No.  No Party.  You just sit back and watch"


Artie: "Thank you for inviting me into your home."
Jocasta:  "Why are you here?"
Artie: "Well someone told me that you are one of the best gardeners in all of Sunset Valley and I just wanted to visit with you and maybe pick up some pointers."
Jocasta: "Really, well come on in.  My husband Simis is making dinner in the kitchen."


Artie: "Jocasta.. we became really good friends last night and I was wondering if you and your family wouldn't mind moving in with me and my wife.  We have this big house and there just isn't enough of the two of us to fill it.  Since we're so close I thought you might want to."
Rica: "Artie.. what are you doing!"
Artie: "Shhh."
Jocasta: "You know Artie.  My husband has always had his eye on this lot up here.  I think this is a great idea!"
Rica:  - sigh- "Welcome to the crazy house Jocasta."
Jocasta: "Who said that!?"
Artie:  "That's just Rica.  She comes with the land unfortunately.  She's like a guardian angel.  She speaks from time to time but she gives nice things if you're good."
Rica:  "Don't worry Jocasta.  I'm only really here to annoy Artie."
Jocasta: "That's good I guess."


Rica:  Here is the room I made for Jocasta and Simis.  For some reason I forgot to take shots of the nursery/kids room.


Rica: "Agnes - why are you fishing?"
Agnes: "Well I just wanted to see if it was much fun.   Artie said something about needing deathfish."
Rica: "Ahh well I don't think you have to worry about that now."
Agnes: "Why's that?  What don't I know?"
Rica: "Well Artie just asked the Bachelors to move in.  He's got Jocasta setting up a garden and Simis is out fishing, too."
Agnes: "He didn't even ask me!"
Rica: "He didn't ask me either! Go get him girlfriend."


Rica: "Find that at the consignment shop?"
Artie: "What?  I can't hear you!"
Rica:  "Get off that thing we have to talk!"
Artie: "Fine! Oh look a diamond."
Rica: "ARTIE!"
Artie: -mumbling, gets off miner- "What woman?"
Rica:  "You're not working very hard for this dynasty are you?"
Artie: "I have worked very hard for this dynasty.  I woo'd a woman who happens to cook and paint.  So my portraits and the ambrosia can be done.   I befriended a gardener who can start the family garden for the life fruit needed for ambrosia.  And I managed to talk her greedy husband into fishing for profit so the deathfish is covered.   Michael will come in handy one day.  Bella is young and impressionable.  She'll make a great mother to my great grandbabies."
Rica: "You're not working hard at all!  Everyone else is working!"
Artie: "I'm managing a large family here.  Plus I think generation 2 is on the way."
Rica: "You have to get a job.  You forgot about that."
Artie: -grunts- "Fine."


Rica:  "Jocasta, help Agnes with her hair."
Jocasta:  "I just don't know about that."
Rica:  Agnes is retasting breakfast and Jocasta is torn between being upset that she stinks and upset that Agnes is sick.


Malcolm Landgraab: "DAD! you just wiped your nose in public!"


Rica:  This is the first time I've ever had a ghost come all the way from the graveyard to visit the park across the street.


Agnes: "Aww nooboo."
Rica: "Aww. I hope it looks like you Aggie."
Agnes: "I'm just glad to be able to have children. "
Rica: "I'm glad they're yours.  I'm sorry you're stuck with Artie."
Agnes: "It's ok.  I do actually love him.  He grows on you after a while."
Rica: "Ok well rest up.  See you in the morning."


Rica:  Agnes started a portrait of Artie and it's kind of creepy.


Artie:  "Who's my little nooboo?  You are."
Rica: "Aww that's so cute.  You might actually have a heart."
Artie: "Shut it woman - I'm talking my child here."
Rica: "It's getting close.  Your wife needs a massage and some rest.  Stop being selfish and help the woman out."
Agnes: "It's ok Rica.  I don't think I'm that close to term and the pain isn't that bad."

Two Sim Hours Later…

Artie:  -screams like little girl- "AHHH Baby is coming Baby is coming"
Agnes: "If you had done your homework you would know what you're supposed to do right now instead of freaking out."
Rica:  "Artie.. you did actually read the books, right?"
Artie: "Of course I did.  But the baby is coming!"


Agnes:  "Rica.. help me!"
Rica: "Artie - get this woman to the hospital!"
Artie: "Ok ok ok ok .. baby is coming … baby is coming.."
Rica: "Artie - hospital!"


Rica:  I would like to introduce the second twin - Alex Grim. 


Rica:  And here is the firstborn and generation two heir - Angelica Grim.  With a little help from Geoffrey Landgraab, Agnes and I managed to get one of each.  Yay for red nooboo!
