Inventing Question - When do you get to blow things up?

My generation 4 dynasty heir is still a child and is working on her inventing skill.  I'm wondering when she will be able to blow up items for scrap.  Is it based on skill level, age, or both?  She is at our rather secluded vacation home in Champs les Sims, so I'd like to get the blowing up done while she is there.

Sims are able to detonate items at Inventing skill level 6. But, these applies only to Young Adults and older, so no blowing up things for the kid, unfortunately.

If you are going for the Scrap Collecting Challenge there is one explosion which will get it all done for you, the Plane outside the military base gave me around 1,500 Scrap when I blew it up, instant Challenge Completion when I collected it with that handy thing called a Harvester. I have my first Inventor for ages about to reach young adulthood so first things first it's up to the Military Base.

I hope to have her inventing skill maxed before she is YA, so we'll celebrate her YA birthday with a BANG...literally...at the Military Base to work towards supermax status.

Not too worried about that, their net worth is in the millions, I'm sure they can pay if it comes to that.  The other choice is to leave the country until the heat is off.  "Darn, we'll have to spend a week or two in our luxury chateau in France, life is just so hard!"

With as tight as security is in the real world these days, I find a great deal of comedy in that whole scenario.

lol I so must try that myself!  I usually start blowing up free furniture and cars that I keep getting randomly sent, cars give some nice amounts of scrap but can you stomach blowing up a $35,000 car?

I can't deal with that, so I go to other people's houses and blow up their cars.  Or invite them somewhere and blow it up in the parking lot.

A Klepto Inventor would work best. Steal some cars, blow up the rest.

I did a lot of blowing up in Egypt.  The family were all high end celebrities and always got tons of stuff.  I set all that stuff out in the yard for Scarlet to blow up and it worked great.  She didn't have any fines, but all of the locals living in Egypt hated her.  It was pretty funny.
