How To Skip The Introductory Video
« on: April 09, 2011, 02:08:35 PM »
If you have already watched the introductory video umpteen times and wish to bypass it, then the next time you start your game just wait for the introductory video window to open and press the "esc" key. Your game should skip the video and go directly to the initialization screens.  ;)

If you mean when you start the game up and it takes you through the video before you get to the menu you can just press any button I found to skip it?

Clicking your mouse also works  :)

The Introductory Video allows time for the game to regenerate just like Sims 3.  Skipping it may not always be a wise thing to do ;)

Exactly as Mtglady said. I try not to skip it, but the voices sometimes irritates me.

So if I don't skip the opening video on Medieval and(?) Sims 3 the game will run better than if I skip it?

Somehow, Thomas. It kind of gives the game more loading time. Which is recommended of course, so the game can run smoother.

Exactly as Mtglady said. I try not to skip it, but the voices sometimes irritates me.

Just mute the sound until the game fully loads - no irritating voices, songs etc ;)

I mute my sound, start the game, hit the bathroom and grab me a cup of coffee and/or snacks.  This way my game is ready to start playing when I sit down.  Note:  I always pause my game when I do my final save before I turn the game off.  This way the game is still paused when I load up again.

Oh, what a fool I've been not to turn off the voice! I'll do that next time. Thanks Mt! Can I call you like that? :)

I don't mind the voice really (it sounds like Patrick Stewart and reminds me of Star Trek lol), I just want to get playing quicker (patience is a virtue, which I don't have).  But if this saves me from all the crashes I've been having, which has caused me more restarts than I care to count, I will gladly listen to Mr Stewart tell me the story over and over  :D

Thanks mtglady  :)

This certainly is a great thing to know if it helps that much since I am in the same situation as SassySimmer with a lot of errors and restarts in the last few days, Not really sure why because at the first ambition the game worked flawlessly. Anyway until now I was deleting cashes and saving often (2 or 3 save files in every new kingdom) and now also this. I hope it works. Thank you mtglady once again.  :)

I tried not to skip the video with Sims 3, and the results were quite disappointing. The loading times were the same, except items appeared faster after my Sim came out of mirror CAS.
