Cannot paint still life or stylized paintings

I started a new game and have leveled up my Sim to where she can paint still life and stylized paintings.  It goes to the screen that lets me get the scene that I want to paint, I push the 'c' key, goes back to my Sim but then action cancels.  She has no problem painting small, medium or large paintings.  Has this happened to others?  I just realized that I didn't try to move the easel, I will try that tomorrow when I fire up my game.  Other than that any other ideas on what to do? Or is my game just bugged?

I've never had that particular problem, gerrr00, but one time my game developed a glitch where my sim suddenly couldn't paint portraits.  I had no idea what to do but fortunately the next time I started the game the problem had corrected itself.  It's amazing the number of problems that fix themselves just from quitting and restarting the game.  I'm hoping that will prove to be the case for you.  If not, the only thing I can think of to try would be to delete the easel and get a new one.  Maybe someone else will have more ideas.  Good luck.

If restarting the game doesn't work, buy a new easel. If that doesn't work either, your Sim is bugged, unfortunately.

I wasn't able to play again until today.  I was able to paint all options fine today.  Whoo hoo!
