Making Cheats work.
« on: April 07, 2011, 11:29:30 AM »
I have tried without success to have a go at using these cheats-  objectsenabled true/false. Move objects on etc. ???
I know how to bring up the cheat bar at the top of the screen. When I do the objects enabled one I get a frame around the screen with a magnifying glass in the top right hand corner. But nothing like the kind of lists of things I can do with the sims. So I wonder where I have been going wrong.
The only ones that work for me are the money one and the one that moves a Sim back home. Which is good as these are very useful.

Have you tried 'testingcheatsenabled true' (without quotation marks)? Lots of the cheats won't work without that on!

Well, I've never heard of an "objectsenabled" cheat so my guess is that you're possibly entering the wrong codes.  It might help to know what you're trying to gain access to so I can help you out a bit more.

The moveobjects cheat I am familiar with, and if you're putting a space between the words, the game won't recognize the code.  The only space that there should be in any cheat code you enter is between the code itself and the words "on/off" and "true/false."

did you do Ctrl+Shift+C? Then you get the little bar at the top. You type testingcheatsenabled true without any space or quotes in between the testingcheatsenabled. You put a space between testingcheatsenabled true/false.

You don't type testingcheatsenabled for "motherlode" "kaching" "buydebug" or "moveobject on/off"

Jeana, you actually do type TestingCheats for Buydebug.

When I do the objects enabled one I get a frame around the screen with a magnifying glass in the top right hand corner.

What do you mean by "a frame"?

What I meant was you don't type "testingcheatsenabled true buydebug" to actually get the buydebug cheat.

Sorry Jeana.
I thought you meant you typed in buydebug before testingcheatsenabled. My bad.
