Okay so I have some serious issues now.

The Lag at the Home Lot is unbearable, it takes five minutes to render almost and if I move to say the back from the front it has to rerender again. The movements are jerky and the Sims are slow. This has been getting worse. So here is what I think I should do and what the cause is I think/hope.

I've being going about this Dynasty the wrong way I think. I've been going for Value rather than actually doing it to complete it, I want the HoF but I'd rather make it once than keep failing with the value. I also think that getting all those Artworks is tedious for me.

My Immortal Dynasty Museum is bigger than the House itself and is probably reaching a similar amount of Items almost... So I think I should sell all of the Sculptures and Photographs, delete the basements and then rebuild a smaller House, keep it simple and not clutter it, my Computer isn't the best for the Graphics I play on so I want to make sure I can keep it up.

What do you all think?

I have some bad news... I tried building a Smaller House, deleting Sculptures etc. and lowering the amount of Furniture and so I started playing but the lagging carried on and hadn't changed at all, I tried restarting the game thinking it might just want to restart it, when I went back in it was still the same. I have no idea what to do...

I'm so sorry Thomas.  With the latest patch, both of mine have been doing the same thing.  I attribute it to the memories so I've started just taking time and getting rid of all the memories for every sim (and that's a lot with 8 people in the house).  I also trimmed down my museum.  I have kept the sculptures, pictures and paintings but only the 1 needed for each life stage.  I'm not keeping anything extra in that basement.  I have another basement that I keep nectar machines, sarcophagi and other weird things.   While the clutter of a house makes it seem more homey - it also seems to make things harder on my game.  I've gotten rid of a lot of little things that I have lying around the house.   I've also started to clean out a lot of the treasure chests too.   Something about just having all those items including Sim inventory can lead to some nasty game lag or so I've read.  To help with rendering, I'm told that having multiple floors helps with the house.  Make sure you do the thing where you hide stuff on the other floors.  I've turned reflections off in mirrors (can cause game crashes).  Things I don't consider a deal breaker.

I hope you can figure out what's causing the problems and it gets fixed for you.  Happy vibes sent your way.

Thanks Rica, The House is spread out on about four levels, two above and two below. The Garden is also very full. I think I have only one Chest that is in use. I don't have the setting to see objects on other floors on, I do have reflections though. I think they are probably quite full on memories but I don't know I tend to ignore them really and have turned off notifications.

I don't think I have it on, I don't think I do, most of my Graphics are on either Normal or on the odd occasion High but I think only Sims are on High. I can't be sure though.

I think advanced rendering is what makes the grass look like grass instead of just a blob of color.  So you probably have it on but i think Chronic found a work around in the help section.

I don't think I actually have it on, I know my PC can't handle high graphics and I never knew what it did till Chronic posted that thing about the grass. I'll check and see if it is on.

I think my problems are solved, so here is the new House, not done but the Museum has been placed, the Kitchen is kind of there but I'm not happy with that yet. The House isn't my favourite but it is far smaller, it is set over on the far left of the Lot and is like 3 or 4 Squares from the edge, if I need to expand I'll go right but I will try not to. I think for their outdoor stuff I will just put that all on Community Lots they own, that way they can also get out of the house more.

Oh, wow, I love the re-design.  I'll be waiting to see it finished up.

Would I be right that you're not going to do a whole lot of clutter-type decoration? (Given that you're redesigning due to lag.)  Pity, since I love your decorating style.

Well this could be seen as bad news but lately I have been so busy, what with the Contests/Legacy/Building and Other projects not to mention School. So my Dynasty has really suffered, I just have not found the time to finish their house and so I will really try to get it done by today or tomorrow at the latest, I really do hate not updating for a long time. So a big sorry for not doing very well at this.
