It also shows that "memories" are different from what they were in Sims 2.
Why's that?

Random epiphany from the link @Saltypaws posted (I looked at some of the other pics): With the muscle definition from the Late Night and body hair slides from Generations, I can make an Alex O' Loughlin sim. And, if I can that sim, I can make a Hawaii Five-O team!

:D :D

I'm thoroughly excited now!

It also shows that "memories" are different from what they were in Sims 2.
Why's that?

The article says that "memories" are pretty much just a scrapbook of captioned screenshots.  They have no real influence over the sim.

Quote
  • Sims can keep track of significant life moments and memories in their Scrapbook!
  • When a special or significant moment occurs in a Sim’s life, a screenshot and description will be recorded in the brand new Scrapbook.
  • You can also use the new “Capture This Moment” button to create your own personal memory. When selected, the you’ll be prompted to capture a screenshot of the moment and add a custom description.
  • For the first time ever in The Sims, you can now share your Sims’ Memories by using the Scrapbook to directly upload them to TheSims3.com and to your Facebook account!

Basically, it makes telling stories easier for us.

I loved memories tab in Sims 2, and I'm sure I'll love it in Sims 3. And now that they'll help us in addition...Wow.
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

I actually kind of like the idea of making it more of a scrapbook. I usually have more than one family/town going at once, and sometimes it gets tricky to figure out where I am in a storyline if I'm switching between families a lot. This sounds like it'll help me keep things straight.

Strange is right. As in...a strange Frankenstein version of Po the Teletubbie.

I don't mind my imaginary friends looking like that. He certainly doesn't look like a Telletubby, because telletubbies in general (the whole show) are really creepy, especially with the sun being a real life baby. He looks more like Mr.Bill to me.

I'm excited about the costumes. I hope there's a devil costume.

We already know the Costumes. Most of the links in this Thread have told us there are only Four. Dinosaur, Astronaut, Prince and Princess.  :)

I am sorry if this has been asked/mentioned before.

I wonder if any of the new 'stuff' will help skill building.

An imaginary friend should increase social easier for children but it would be cool if it could also kick start charisma skills.

Also the sandbox would be great if it would help the sculpting skill for later on.

If these features are included it will make it a little easier to skill a child whilst they are having fun :)

Mostly I have pre-ordered this because of the new interactions, I always wanted to be able to read the little ones a bedtime story and it always seemed silly to me that parents didn't have any real 'control' of their teens.

I am thinking that this EP will give more gel to the other EPs too, I am now thinking of getting late night which is something I had very little interest in before. I want my Rock Star son to be rebelious and really a menace to society with his twin brother being as sweet as can be. hehehe :)
Everything happens for a reason, sometimes we have to wait a long time for the reason to become clear.

We don't know about any Skills linked with any objects yet apart from that Logic may have something to do with the Chemistry Set. Nothing concrete though. I have not preordered yet. I'll leave it a while for the Medieval Purchase to cool down in my Mums eyes.  :D

Yes, I do too, I think it will be really cool, and hopefully we will be able to customize them!

I think Scrapbooks will be customizable - A Sim that likes blue would not like a pink scrapbook, even if they cannot see it.
Besides looking at the same old scrapbook over and over and over and over and over again would get boring. But you can customise memories - that will give some variety if they do not customise scrapbooks.

That is just what I am hoping for, Seabody.
Let's hope this is the case. :)

It's hard to say really how much detail they've actually put into the in-game scrapbook function, but as it's designed to work with the official website it's likely they'll include some neat functions somewhere along the lines.

What I find really interesting is that it's apparently designed to work with Facebook, as well.

I'm sad they don't have a devil costume.  :( Hopefully the Sim Store will provide more costume ideas.
