Well, it did say they added 10 new lots, so I guess that is something.  They can also have dreams or nightmares too, depending on what prompted them.  Not quite sure what they meant they have extended the careers for Ambitions though.  Guess we will find out.  Oh well, I am still looking forward to it.

I removed that "I" on simdancers post, so now the link should work. :)

I just read the interview. I am so excited about this. I don't like the fact though that you can't get triplets in a stroller. They have triplet strollers in real life!  :( I personally see Pam going into the daycare profession for every Sim she plays.  ;D I also love the idea of being able to filter the items from each EP or SP. That will come in so handy!! And it would be awesome to see the world as my sim!!

10 new lots??  We're going to start running out of room in our towns.  :P  Are there even 10 empty lots in Bridgeport?

That wouldn't be so bad I guess, so I guess that would do a good bit to elevate any disappointment I might experience.  However, it would still be nice to have access to another new town soon, even if I had to buy it separately.  If they would do that, I would be perfectly content.

I really like the daycare profession depending on what I read. Seems like the camera will be a lot of fun. But I'm really bummed that there's no new town. They say they listen to us, right? Then why don't they add weather and pets?! EA is really getting on my nerves sometimes. :(

Then why don't they add weather and pets?!

Well, I'm sure that they're not done creating expansion packs just yet.  ;)  Like I've said before:  the pet expansions for Sims 1 and 2 were very popular, so it extremely likely that there will be such an expansion for the Sims 3, as well.  However, judging from the expansions that have been released so far, there are a lot of new ideas rolling around in their developers' minds, so they're probably going to use those up first before they go back to the 'old hat.'

Weather, on the other hand, would be problematic at the very least.  Gardening has been around since the base game, and is a tried and true system.  For them to introduce weather into the game, it would probably require a complete rework of how that entire skill works.  Growth rates would have to be sped up, harvest quantities would have to be increased and skill gain rates would have to be adjusted to compensate for the fact that there is at least one season that this skill would not be able to be trained at all.  And when you consider the slow growth rates and low harvest quantities of some of the rare and special plants to begin with, you can imagine how difficult it would be to get all of these changes balanced.  At this point, weather might actually be something that just isn't possible.

However, this is off-topic, so let's try to get back on track.  ;)

Thank you for the info, Hosfac. :) Sorry for off-topic! Okay, back on topic, I quite like the new Nurturing trait so far, what about you, people?

Back of topic - weather is already included in game code, it is easy to get snow and rain with fog emitters, and texture is also easy to add/change. As for gardening, only winter is not for outdoor gardening, but there were and probably will be greengardens (hope I use the right term, indoor gardens with glass walls) and option to chose climate for worlds. I'm expecting aproximatelly 2-3 weeks for each season. EA already have weather in game, so it's just a matter of time of wrapping it into new EP.
I was also hoping for a new town and I'm confident it will come with this EP too, but 10 new lots seem too much, we'll need more than 50 comunity lots per town!?

Actually, I had never considered that, and it raises a very interesting point.  Plants that take longer to grow would undoubtedly be considered more weather sensitive, so they would probably grow better in a greenhouse (that's the word you were looking for ;) ) all year round, if they existed in real life.  And any sim who didn't have at least a small greenhouse wouldn't really be considered a "professional" gardener, so skill learning rates wouldn't necessarily have to be adjusted, either.  All that would really have to be done would be to change the growth mechanics so that it didn't work outdoors during the winter.  And it wouldn't take anything at all to add a new clothing category for cold weather clothes.

Very interesting.

I guess they are forcing us to download Create-A-World. Either for adding free lots to most of the existing towns, or to create new ones. Unfortunately, some of us are having problems with it. Me, for example. :(

We have these specific boarding schools where you can send off your child elsewhere. It might be a military school, a sports school, even this kind of a hippie school. They'll have different experiences there and can come over to visit the family and tell them their experiences they made.

Sports school sounds great to me.

Yeah I know the feeling I just glanced at it because my mum was yelling at me to hover upstairs and go deep-poop the garden.
