I have tidied up the first post a bit. Hope that might be a little cleared for some people.  :)

That's good.  I did see in the history on Wiki that the information on Generations had changed quite a bit lately.

Yup, EA have a reputation to uphold after all, as well as making sure all their info is correct and that there are no copyright issues or any infringements.

I don't think I will add any links to the Wiki pages on the first post because we can't tell if they are from a reliable source or not.

I also agree with you samoht as, although EA will be checking and correcting wikipedia, they are not monitoring it 24/7 so some false information may be posted and be there a while before the EA team notices and changes it. After all, they've got to sleep!

Also I just realised that there won't be magic in this EP because if there was they would have mentioned it.  ;)

After reading the info about the official announcement, I spent the last day seeking for more about Generations. What I have found has not only satisfied me, but made me even excited. Prams, pranks, Day Care, Bachelor(ette) parties, weddings, camcorders, memories - oh my! I really can't express my excitement around this expansion. Having watched the official trailer millions of times already, I cried each time. They made it so beautiful, so touching, that even a person not connected to the Sims franchise will immediately buy the game. Great commercial trick, EA. Nevertheless, the expansion is worth it. All I can say - bravo, EA. :)

P.S. So did I really see a new life stage there or is it just my imagination? The male Sim in the water slide part in my opinion is neither a young adult nor a full adult, somewhere in between. Should I have hopes for a longer life for my Sims? ;D
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

I'm excited about the added dynamic it brings to challenges. I'm actually debating with Tears of Jade once it comes out to modify and update (which desperately is needed) legacy rules to incorporate the rest of the game. Ya know for those of us who are too chicken (or laptops glitch when the family reaches 7 people) for a dynasty.

I showed the trailer to my sixteen year old sister and she remarked the flaming poo sack is back. Which we are excited about. Long story short she had a family who she had this guy as a player in sims 2. He cheated on 3 girls...who found out at once. Who arrived at the same time to burn down the house with him in it! They used the sacks to do it with.

I think you're right Chronic. I think there is a Middle-Aged there. Also I'm curious about how the graduation aspect comes back into it. I never played University much but maybe they are adding that back into things?

By the way, I find that whole "having a romantic relationship with your imaginary friend" thing a little bit weird.  :P

I find it weird, too.  I was telling my sister about Generations and we both thought the romantic relationship aspect of imaginary friends was a little weird and kinda creepy, actually.  :-\

It looks awesome, though, and I'm super excited about it.  I can't wait until May.  I've been waiting for more things to do with the younger life stages and this expansion looks like it will really flesh them out.  The costume chest looks adorable, by the way.  I've missed memories and are glad they are bringing them back. I also look forward to more indepth wedding parties.  The wedding arches in the video look really pretty.  And bunkbeds and strollers! I've wanted both since Sims 2.

I hope adults can have imaginary friends too. Childish adults, I mean. As far as the romantic aspect goes, I don't see falling in love with my imaginary friend. However, I can see my imaginary friend falling in love with another child's imaginary friend. Plus, my imaginary friends do not have human hair or skin colors either, so I find the RL, children bringing their imaginary friends to life for romantic purposes when they get older. If I could set my RL friend's imaginary friend with my imaginary friend, then it would be perfect.

Don't be sorry! Some stuff they have on there is useful but being open to editing by anyone lowers its standards and authenticity.

I wonder if imaginary friends will be the new life form.  So far, EA has introduced a new life form in every expansion pack for Sims 3.

I don't know Pam. I wonder if they are imaginary, how are we going to see them? Or will our sims be the only one to see them making us think they are talking to themselves?  ???

I am not sure how reliable The Sims Wiki is, but they talk about imaginary friends in their article http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Imaginary_Friend

The article I read said that imaginary friends will be visible when the child is the active Sim.  When other Sims are active, the imaginary friend will disappear and it will look like the child is doing something alone.

Do you think the same thing will apply to childish Sims as well, since childish Sims' unlocked interactions are the same actions available to all child or younger sims? Perhaps older insane Sims will have this sort of thing as well.
