I looked it up on wikipedia and it says the new town is called Edgeville, There is additions: new playground equipment, it Features: pranks, midlife crisis, new types of celebrations (i.e. birthday/teen/bachelor parties, weddings), memories, graduation ceremonies, imaginative play, spiral staircases, waterslides. Note that this is a pre-release estimation of what will be included. The new NPC's will be, Genie, Imaginary Friend new creatures will be Wizards, Witches the new way to die will be Scared to Death and the new careers will be Puppeteer, Babysitting. Hmm, that's strange as I read, from one of Thomas' links, that the chemsitry set will creat a new kind of ghost. Let me see if I can find the article again.

Edit: Found it. It's under the EA website news release section. It says...

There will be even more creative options to explore with a brand new chemistry set, but they’ll need to use caution, or their Sims might turn themselves into a ghost.

(Doing the happy dance) on Wikipedia it said the new creature was wizards and witches I so hope that's true.

Turning into a ghost isn't exactly the same as dieing, because if you die you still need to be brought back at the science facility, while turning straight into a ghost wouldn't need that step.

Puppeteer, babysitting? Maybe part time jobs? Puppeteer seems quite out there, and maybe babysitting is what they mean by the daycare profession?

Witches/wizards - magic? I think that's what a lot of people have been hoping for. Looks like they won't be leaving it to the last expansion for magic like TS2.

Don't forget anyone can edit wikipedia, so just because its on there doesn't mean its real.  That could just be someone's speculation.

I was telling my son about this expansion, he plays sims on the xbox, but not on the PC...maybe I should have kept my mouth shut, because he likes the pranks alot, and now I think I might have to share

I can't wait for more wedding stuff either! I've wanted new wedding stuff for a while. In fact, there were a few things that I was really wanting that are coming with Generations.

There's 2 new traits: nurturing and rebellious. Plus a new career: daycare! Memories work through scrapbooks and you can use screenshots and create your own. 4 new types of parties. Something called "romantic reputations", and body hair.

Daycare?! Oh! Now I'm even more excited!

There are two different arches in the video, so I think you are in luck there!

The giving of gifts at the parties looks fun, but with the pranks feature, it makes me wonder if you have the ability to have it be a gag gift, wouldn't that be hilarious?  Each time I watch that darn video I see more and more.

I was going to get Medieval this week, but I think instead I am going to clean the computer and update my external hard drive, move stuff off the main drive so I'm ready for this EP....decision, decisions.

I don't think that stuff from Wikipedia was true.  As far as I know, the name of the new town hasn't been mentioned yet, and the Wikipedia entry has been edited to remove the mention of wizards, witches, etc.

Yay, wedding parties, bunk beds and body hair, lol.  Not so much in that order.  I think bunk and loft beds will be cool.  New pranks sounds kinda neat too.  I like the idea of filming a wedding or activity and then playing it back on the sims tv.  What will they think of next.  I can wait for weather and don't really care about pets as much, but just having new things to do and new interactions with new EP's makes me happy.  I know each one will bring a different type of gameplay in the mix and I will buy it anyway, so it doesn't matter what is in the EP, lol.  I am glad it is not like sims2.  I played that game from beginning to when sims3 came out and I like sims3 alot better.  All in all, I think this one is going to be outstanding.

EA will have their marketing team checking different websites, wikipedia being one of them. So if anything false goes in the article they'll modify it.

That's good.  I did see in the history on Wiki that the information on Generations had changed quite a bit lately.

The interview on gameplanet (thanks for those links!!) does say "Day Care profession" so maybe it's a new profession and not a full or part time career.  Meaning, possibly, that your sim would get called around to different homes in order to provide day care services.

Interesting.  Did they ever say if there is an actual day care community lot?  So far, I haven't heard anything about new kinds of community lots.
