Chemistry!  How exciting!  the chemistry set from Livin' Large was always one of my favorite items from the original Sims.  I'm looking forward to seeing how it fleshes out as an actual skill.

Shame no pets, though.  I'm so anxious!  This better have my pool table to make up for it...!

Oh, sweet irony, deliver me from coincidence.

Please feel free to utilize any of my builds in any of your stories and so forth.

I was thinking the same thing.  Sims 3 is a totally different game, and while some things in Generations might have the appearance of something similar to Sims 2, it will no doubt be much different.  Don't expect EA to re-hash old games because there really wouldn't be a whole lot of point in buying a new game if it was the same as the old one.  People who get this expansion thinking this is going to be a return to Sims 2 are setting themselves up to be disappointed.

I'm actually quite excited to have new activities for children.  I found them to be somewhat boring up until now, because all they really have to do right now is go to school and wait to grow up.  But I'm wondering how this will change the current mechanics for the game.  How are all of these things that are going on at school going to take place (that's a rhetorical question, by the way :P)?

Whatever it ends up being, I'm looking forward to this expansion more than I've looked forward to any others.
I agree with everything said here.
It looks like this will make the child age lots more fun. I'm looking forward to buying it - time to save up!

I liked the chemistry set as well.  I'd lock up my sim in a room with the set and tens of painting easels and have them drink the potion that would turn them into a monster.  I doubt that that's what the new chemistry set will do, but it's still exciting!  And I'm glad to see memories again, I just hope there's no "mystery sim" this time.  ;)

Edit: I should explain.  There was a potion that would turn your sim into a monster that would break all your appliances... but would also paint on any easels.  If I remember correctly, these paintings would usually fetch a pretty penny.  So I'd buy a ton of easels in hopes of selling some good paintings.

It's less than 2 months away!!!!

So sounds to me like similarities between the sims 2, family stuff, celebration stuff but more than just items...
I AM EXCITED(understatement)

Pram/stroller - YAY been wanting for something like that forever!

Wonder if we'll get santa like we did in sims 2 holiday stuff.
That would be cool .

Is anyone else looking forward to Imaginary friends? That's the feature I'm most excited about in Generations. I think I'm the only one who's overly excited about creating imaginary friends.  ;D

I've heard you can turn them into real sims and then have your child get romantic with them. (When they are older!) Not sure how true that is though.

This is so exciting! I seriously cannot wait for it. I always play children but they really do get boring. I'm happy this will make them more interesting.

(We better get all of our excitement out fast because we can only talk about the previews for so long. Sooner or later Pam will lock this thread. Lol.)

By the way, I find that whole "having a romantic relationship with your imaginary friend" thing a little bit weird.  :P

That's a little odd. I just want Imaginary friends for the fun of it. Give them realistic skin color, like red green or blue, or even a non human form. That's the fun of imaginary friends. I could see making my two imaginary friends fall in love with each other though. Come on people, no one has names picked out yet? I already have SEVERAL names for my imaginary friends lol.  ;D

Well...  I'd say it looks pretty official, so I'm not going to lock this thread.  ;D
