I have a huge game lag on mine. Other than that no problems.

Same for me.  Can't wait for the babes to go to sleep tonight so I can play.  Thankfully I had no patching issues.  It did take a few minutes for the launcher to announce the patch but that was it.  Going to open a daycare, woot!

I just finished installing Generations and when I clicked to start the game it quit automatically about 5 seconds later. I tried it a few more times and the same thing happened. I don't even think the game was updated yet so this doesn't look good!

I just got it and installing it now. Hopefully it works! Let you guys know in about half an hour to an hour lol.

I think I'm gonna have to uninstall my game now. I've never done this before but does anyone know if it gets rid of your game files?

So far, so good for me too.  It took a couple of minutes for the update to show up, once the launcher came up, but it looks great as far as I can tell.  I hope everyone that is having problems gets it worked out, which I am sure you will.  I wish everyone luck.

Go into your documents, right click the sims folder, choose cut then left click on your desktop and choose paste. That way your files and stuff will be safe. Then after you've reinstalled, just move it back into the same place.

EDIT: Now it's downloaded, but it says it needs an update, yet there is no update on the launcher.  How do I do it manually??

Oh man you guys are making me nervous. I just was planning to hop on here with more flailing and yelling because I got my game today when I came home from work. Actually I got two! For some reason my order came twice. I haven't been billed a second time but I'm going to send it back as soon as I call and get the return packaging.

Anyway, I get on here and I see everyone is having problems. I am so nervous now. I haven't installed anything yet. I had planned to come straight home and get to installing but I had to do the mommy thing.  

Ok well wish me luck everyone. Looks like there's a thread for the issues so I'll check that out as well.

I had the same problem with the crash within a few after the game started, it was my DEP so I turned it off and it plays great.

Thanks Esther! I copied and pasted it and I uninstalled sims. I'm gonna reinstall it soon so I hope it works!

Go to the Technical Help board and look at my topic "Some Questions about Patches". Hope this helps. I have to do this often. My Laptop is barely ever connected to the internet. I have to do it via USB.

I installed earlier and patched (I'm on a Mac) and so far it has worked wonderfully - so you might not get problems!

I just got the game yesterday, and I am so far very pleased. I was kinda disappointed with the lack of new objects (Or so it felt), but I video camera seems very cool. I am a bit annoyed with the memories system though. When the game takes an automatic screen shot, the photo is usually to far away, so I have to take another one myself.  The new kids item's are extremely fun, and I can' wait to play- er, I mean, let my Sims play with them more!
I am really happy with all the new CAS items, apart from the fact that there is only one female elder outfit. That's all to complain about though.
 
EDIT- Also, my game didn't come with that small manual that the Sims games have always had. This annoys me, for some reason. I think EA is getting lazy.

Oh, no I meant that I make another memory, and delete the automatic one.
