Sims 3 Generations Expansion Pack

I was able to download the game on my Mac.  However, I can't get the launcher to open up to actually play the game.  I can't get anything to work.   My sister can't get the game to update so she can't actual install what she just downloaded.

I'm about to order mine, I was hoping the price would go down but now it's Tuesday and the game is realease on Friday so this is for the hope it might arrive on the Friday or the Saturday. It was a Bank Holiday on Monday so the Site wouldn't have taken orders anyway.

Has anybody else had any trouble installing Generations? When I press install, it says that I must update my Sims 3 game. But there is no update...? My version is 7.0.55.010017. If anybody who has gotten it to work, please help me! Thanks!

I read that somewhere else on the Forum but I don't know where, I don't have my copy yet. I would suggest starting a new topic in the Technical Issues Board though.

Everyone else is having the same problem. Only Mac users have the update. PC users still have to wait.

Mac users got an update that broke their launchers which means we can't play the game either right now.

The Sims/EA has posted that the patch is available but my game says it's up to date. Maybe I'm lucky.

My game was up to date and I played all morning.  Then when the download was finally released at 1pm my time for Generations.  I saved my dynasty, backed up my saves/sims to install.  I installed and the launcher won't work.  One time it did the patch thing and now nothing works.

I didn't buy the EP. I was just checking for the patch that will give you some of the new interactions for the game.

Ricalynn what problem are you having? I can get in my game, but it crashes 30 secs into it.

Game won't load at all.  As a mac user, I have found no way to go around the launcher and now the launcher itself won't load.  The icon appears on my dock and then disappears for no reason.  My computer doesn't even acknowledge it crashed.  (normally it would try to send an error report to Apple)

There has been quite a few problems reported and discussion about it at the Sim/EA site but unfortunately the forums are down right now too.

Crashes is more like it.  one minute your on the forums looking for help and the next Liam pops up with his message that the site is down.
