The live broadcast was really interesting to watch, even with all of the technical difficulties (at least they were streaming difficulties, not game difficulties!). I have to say, I was excited for this EP before, but now I'm kicking myself for not having the money saved up to buy it as soon as it comes out! I do wish they could have shown us some of the interactions with elders, but hey, that was a lot to pack into a short time period.

Do any of you sometimes get annoyed with EA?

I just got an email from them that says  if I order Generations before May 30 I would get a free Outdoor Living.  I didn't run out and buy it when it first came out because there wasn't anything I was really excited about. I picked it up about a week ago when I was browsing for some other things. Who knew?

Seriously?? Ok going to attempt that. Outdoor Living is the only one I don't have besides Generations! Wish me luck!  ;D
EDIT: Will I get it the day it comes out? It says shipping 3-4 days. I can't wait that long lol.

Ok I have only read through page ten so if my discussion is now old please forgive me.

Pam I can't believe you still haven't just taken a peak at TS2. You should really take a little stab at it. Just to say you did it and share in the excitement that us TS2 players are drowning in.

I agree that The Sims 3 is not TS2 but we can not ignore that the newest is inspired by its predecessors. All three Sims share the same basic concepts. I remember when TS3 base came out the creator articles and interviews discussed that they took a lot from Sims2 and just took it to another level. Those of us who have played back from the first can't help but compare an relate the wonderful features of TS3. Those of us who desire and anticipate pets come from the prior versions. Sims had pets, Sims2 had pets and we hope they will be gracious enough to give us pets in Sims3. I am definitely joining in the *flailing and yaying* over getting to have memories and actual ceremonies. Did I see graduation celebration on the Sims3 website? Makes me hope for some college type stuff in the future.  :D However I'm not disappointed in that whole Wikipedia magic thing because I wasn't really big on that even when it was in The Sims.

I am so excited about this EP. I was feeling kind of left out because Medieval came out and nothing new for me to get excited about. Now there's a whole different game but that's not the topic here.

It doesn't matter to me if it's a bring back from the past or a brand new adventure with the imaginary friends. This is going to be the longest week of my life. I'm sorry for those who have been waiting for months because I just found out about it this weekend and I can't sit still.

More *flailing and yaying*

@Platnum

          I've been spending some time over at the Sims3 site forum and there are a lot of people who are excited about the new interactions coming in Generations. They kept talking about the new memories feature and since I had never played TS2 I didn't have a clue. I had picked up TS2 and one of the EPs several months ago and had never put them on the computer. I got very curious after all the talk about Generations and the memories so I installed them a few days ago and you know what? I really like it! It surprises me how many items/actions from TS2 are a base for TS3. It takes some getting used to and figuring out but I'm going to enjoy the adventure. In fact it makes me wish we could have a thread here for the people who still play TS2. Right now I play,get stumped about something, stop and look something up on line and then start to play again. I was kind of noncommittal about Generations because I don't play with a lot of kids but now that I know a little more about past Sims I'm looking forward to it. I shelved TSM after two weeks of play and I may or may not play it again but I will be picking up more TS2 EPs.

I'm so getting this for my birthday! I can't wait for the video camera. Nearly a month still to I can get it is excruciating. I'm so building a playground for the swap shop!

I actually lost sleep last night thinking about Generations.  I haven't been this excited for a game since base game TS3 came out.   :D
