Good point Gen. We are only going by what one article says at the moment, although if no one has mentioned a new town yet then there probably won't be but you know EA and secrets.  :)

Everyone take a deep breathe!
I don't believe they have officially announced there is a new town or not

I haven't seen anything on a US site but (I believe it's a German site) Sims-3.net had an article written by someone at the Munich unveiling.  They said in the article that there were several new lots but it was placed in Sunset Valley. Of course it's EA and anything can change at any time.

I know I will get the game, but what might happen, is that somewhere down the road, there will be a new town available, sort of like BB.  I hope that does not happen, but if they have not officially announced it, who knows.  Hasn't there always been a new  neighborhood with the EP's?  I thought there has been, not sure why that would change now.  Oh well, whatever happens, happens.

Yea Salty, I agree. With WA it was Riverview, with Ambitions it was Twinbrook and Bridgeport came with LN. It would break the tradition if a new town isn't in it.  ;D To me, I don't care I play 99% in Sunset Valley anyways so it doesn't bother me one way or another.

Esther, don't forget 3 new worlds that came with WA.
I haven't comment here, mainly cause I agree with Salty and few others who are devoted Simers and customers as I am, meaning, I would buy it anyway, sooner or later. Still, based on what I read here and on provided links, I doubt I'll run to get it as soon as possible, cause it doesn't seem to deliver things in game that I would really love to use. (I'm more in building and one Sim gaming than in families). Maybe this flower picking option change my mind..

I'll be quite disappointed with Generations if there isn't a new town, even though I was extremely excited about it.  Of course that probably doesn't mean I won't get it, but it could very well mean that it's moved down on my list of priorities.  Without a new town, I probably won't get it right away.

There's something I've been noticing lately.  It just seems like there's less and less effort going into each and every subsequent expansion.

With Ambitions, we got Twinbrook, complete with all the new buildings for the new professions.  They even put different versions in the bin for the other towns, even though they go into lots that are far too big for them and at very strange angles.

Then with Late Night, we got Bridgeport that, like Twinbrook, had it's own unique buildings.  But instead of making new buildings for the other towns, they just put the same buildings from Bridgeport into the bin.  They had to know that, due to the odd sizes of the lots and the fact that they were skyscrapers, that we had little hope of getting them to fit into the other towns properly, if at all.

Now there's a possibility that we might not even get a new town.

Just an observation...

I'm agreeing with you there Hosfac. It feels like that with not just the towns. For example with the base game and first EP (+ HELS) you got the 1000 store points, plus they gave you riverview for free if you registered the base game (didn't come with WA as Esther implied). But it seems like with each EP there's been less and less effort in rewarding you for buying the game. I believe with OLS it was a free wallpaper, and with LN it was a small objects pack containing about three or four objects. Now I know EA did that to market the game and since then they have no need to offer freebies to entice us to buy the game. Still though it doesn't help but make you feel a bit dissapointed.

On the flip side we don't really know how long the programming takes to insert all these new interactions that generations is giving us. For all we know it is easier to design objects/world/etc and place them in game as add-ons than there is to design new interactions and integrating everything. I work for a consultancy so I know full well that time is money and sometimes the things that seem to have a less 'flashy' end result actually takes the longest to design.

Certain things however players are expecting and looking forward to in a new EP - mainly new gems, rocks, food, world, plants - that it would be a poor show on EA's side if they don't include them.

Here is another great link I found. http://www.simprograms.com/category/the-sims-3-series/pc-generations/

I can't wait! The daycare profession sounds like so much fun! It is exactly what I asked for in in the Future EP ideas thread.

@ Simdancer - Part of your own post has merged with the URL link. There is an I at the end which takes you to an error page but if you take off the I it takes you to the right page.  :)

Some great pics there! Simprograms say there is no new town as well. Just several new lots which we won't have room to place.  :-\

Sorry about that. It's been so long, I forgot about it. Sorry everyone!

Just read over my reply and I hope I wasn't being too blunt there Esther. I just wanted to clarify to show the number of freebies we got in the beginning.

I've read the article on simprograms and I'm really looking forward to Generations. The kid interactions seem really good, especially things like the slumber party and the different tree houses giving them different fantasy role-plays. I like playing the kids now but I must admit I do get bored of them eventually, once I tired of seeing how cute they are.
