Blacksmith Guide Omission

For Carl and his guide. You mention selling at the stall as being of more or less no real interest for a blacksmith. I'd disagree - you get not just a nice profit by selling from the stall, you also get +150 EXP per sale, just like the merchant.

With the "Eloquent" trait I can usually sell in just 3 actions:

(a) Butter Up (usually green)
(b) Hustle (usually green)
(c) Convince to Buy (green by then)

As the smith's house is usually crowded (at least mine is) you can convince the people inside to buy the stuff you just crafted - sole problem is the "pathfinding" bug with the X'ed Thoughtbubble and the footprints which can be a tad annoying in the cramped confined of the smith's stall.

Still - especially at the early stages of, er, smithood I usually craft crude plate mail (done in seconds) and sell for 200+ at the stall with just 3 interactions + the 150 EXP. :)

Yes, this is important as the blacksmith can be hard to level without it. As entertaining as it is I don't like to use the monster pit...

I got it worked in. Thanks! I love making corrections like this that will bring value to the guide :)

I haven't used the pit for leveling, but I don't think I ever will... Heroes can die suddenly and unexpectedly even at level 10. My Physician jumped in once, came out fine. On the second try, poof -- meet the reaper.

Got to feed the monster first, the quality of the food matters. Lower quality food takes more food. Though, I am not sure how it selects what to use, my guess is it uses the highest quality first. I think it only eats meat also. ;)

I've yet to befriend the beast with my spy and knight both above level 6 and used 10+ boar/bear/venison on each.

For characters that can use the military training objects, such as the target dummy and scribe table the pit is not as efficient. For those that don't have access to such resources the pit can be useful.

There are 2 types of pit interactions,

1) Combat - happens when you just jump into the pit or don't fee the monster enough. You know this one is active by the white symbols that show up during the interaction.

2) Play - This one happens when you have fed it enough,  you can tell this one by  the little ping hearts that show up in the dust kicked up by the action. At the end of it a giant pink heart will show up.

During the encounters you have a chance for a special event and get a sword part (I don't remember the name of the sword).

What I do is to make sure I feed the monster every other jump and that seems to work. Not that I have done it a lot but I have yet to lose a hero to the monster. I have gone about 5 runs in a row at the most.

You can get bits and pieces of the Doomsword from the pit. Your blacksmith can re-forge the sword with the hilt, blade, and the book on how to do it. I'm trying to figure out where the book comes from. Not sure if you can just buy it in the village or if you need to do something special.

It's from an encounter in the forest or the Village Shoppe. You get two books if you choose too buy, there's 4 books available so it's a 50% chance you'll get the one for the sword.

There is an even better way to use (or is it abuse?) the blacksmith's stall. You can repeat the butter-up/hustle combination up to 6 times before it gets rejected for repetition, which is usually enough to make you friends with the customer, which gives the +20 New Friend buff that helps to keep the butter-up/hustle interactions green for the next customer. All together it'll give you 360XP per item sold! You'll make less money but it's a quicker way to level.

It does seem a bit like an exploit, though. :-X

This has gotten way off topic.  The original purpose of the thread was to report an omission to the Guide.
