Nice job with the house, the only thing is that is a little colossal so I'm trying to make it a apartment but I can not make it work. Is there something preventing the house from becoming an apartment

Hello WolfJake . Thank you for your interest in my cabin/chalet.

I did not originally plan for it to turn out so big, but as I built it kept getting bigger and bigger and before I knew it, it was huge! I was going to downsize it before uploading it, but I could not pick which rooms or areas to delete. I was just too pleased with how each room turned out, each unique and special. So I decided to leave that decision to whomever wanted to use it in their game.

I wanted to make this a community lot but the game will not allow certain items like stoves and fireplaces in community buildings. It is for that reason that I decided to keep it as a home lot because I did not want to sacrifice the fireplaces nor the kitchen stove. I wanted the Sims to be able to live there like they do in the original apartments included in the game. My vision started out as a small cabin by the falls, but as you can see it went far beyond that - lol.

I am not sure what could be causing the problem for you though.

I know the cabin is completely playable in every area because I have tested it over and over again. I actually had 8 Sims living there at one time.

My only thought is to go into edit town and see if you need to make any changes in the drop down menu where you choose what type of building you want it to be.

Hopefully somebody else here on the forum will read our posts and offer additional help. In the meantime, I will strain my brain to figure out what could be the problem and I will continue to try and help in any way I can. :)

Hi WickedSimmer87. Rustic and nature themed is what this creation was all about. I wanted to keep the decor centered around nature and what you would expect to find in a log cabin. I will post more pictures. Some rooms were hard to capture, so, you might have to stretch your imagination a bit. Thanks for your interest!

"hut"?  Uh, Change that to "hutzilla"! lol

Yeah, in sims 2 I usually started small and ended up building cruise-size mansion. I know what you mean. Anyway I was trying to make it an apartment cause I once went to the mountains and there was a cabin exactly like yours. It was cool seeing it on the sims. Anyway, I'll keep looking how to make it an apartment

I don't have ambitions, getting as soon as I go to nearest shopping complex, but could you upload the log wall wallpaper/pattern. I've made about five at this stage and they're all horrible.

Chopsticks, The log design can be found in your Sims 3 game. You do not need Ambitions to get it. This cabin was designed with just Sims 3 material and only a few objects/items were added after I got Ambitions. You can find it in build mode, select walls, select wall covering, select siding, and it is called timberwood.  :)

Phew, I made all of mine with CAP so I assumed you made that one in it. Going to try and find it now.

That turned out great.  It definitely has the rustic cabin feel.  I love master bedroom with sitting areas.

Here are the pictures I promised. I tried to take as many pictures as I could with walls up, and I tried to get a good sky view of each level. Just a note about picture #45, it is a refrigerator that I hid behind the pillar/column so that when Sims grill outside they will not have so far to walk from the kitchen to the outside.

Thank you for your interest and the kind words everybody!

I love this house! I'm no good at designing houses, but if I was this is what I would make! Thank you! :)

Breathtaking. I lived in a log cabin for five years in MT so I have a huge soft spot for them
