Pink Diamonds

I apologise if this has been mentioned before, I did a search and it only came up on one topic. Thing is, I have had the sims 3 for a few weeks now, spent hours upon hours playing the vanilla version yet have never found a pink diamond. My legacy house's main income at the moment is from collecting so it's not as if I'm not doing it often or anything either! So I'm curious, have you found any spawn spots [in Sunset Valley particularily] that are more likely to have pink diamonds, or is it really as completely random as it seems?!

There are 1 or 2 spots that are more likely to spawn the pink diamonds.  I have found pink diamonds out by the military base way up high on the mountain in the trees.  They have also shown up out behind the stadium for me.

The only time and place I got one was when i explored the catacombs of the mausoleum but I advise picking the death flower then doing that!

Hm, I shall try the military base more often I think The catacombs are just full of crazyness when I visit them

Supposedly you can find one sometimes when your Sim rummages through the garbage bin by the Landgraab's, but I have never found one myself.    I have only found a few and they were in the places mentioned and also by the Goth house facing front of the house to the right by the trees.

I always get several pink diamonds when my sim is breaking the space rock.

How does a sim break a space rock?

A sim has to be high up on the martial arts skill, I tried at level 8, but he couldnt break it.  Once they are able to break the space rock, they will do it constantly.  I have gotten most of my gems from them breaking the space rock and even have a pink diamond skull  and rainbow gem skull, with the both of them costing over 30,000 simoleons.  I have a soulpeace skull worth 36,000, so break away.

How does a sim break a space rock?

Your Sim needs to complete the Timber Terminator challenge to be able to get gems from space rocks. See the guide here at the bottom of the page:

I am fully aware of that, but I was answering purenergys question about the space rock. I don't think that was even an issue.  Mine has finished that challenge a long time ago, otherwise she wouldn't be getting gems. But thanks anyway, someone might not have known that.

I've found that pink diamonds are rather infrequent. If i took all minerals from riverview every day during 3 weeks, only got 4 pink.

Yes, that's why they are very rare.

Before I got WA, pink diamonds were a distant legend for me.
