Missing Child (Wizard)

So far I have been okay with the Quests on my own but now I am getting quite worried. I have just placed my Wizard Tower down and made my Wizard, my first Quest with him is the Missing Child. It says I need to scry for the child but when I do it says that the results showed nothing. (Don't remember the real message) I have done Scry about 10 times now and still nothing, my Wizard is now at Level 2 from it. My Quest performance was Gold because of his Mood but now it is decreasing and I can't stop it without getting something from this Scrying. Is there something I am doing wrong? (My Wizard is Earthy and Scholarly with Licentious as a Fatal Flaw)

This is probably going to sound silly but I actually managed to hide the picture of the next action I should do in my quest.  There are some little dots there and if you click them, the picture disappears.  Maybe that is what you have done.  I think I accidentally clicked there when swapping characters.  It threw me into a loop for a good part of one of my quests until I realized what I had done.

I can see the icon that tells me I should Scry and it tells me to do it on an Arcane Tome? I will try running the game and see if it might have refreshed to something or changed and see if I might have hidden something else I need to do.

Please refresh my memory. Is the Arcane Tome upstairs or downstairs?

It's downstairs and I think a restart helped because the moment I tried again it worked! I didn't do great on it but oh well.

My Wizard was able to solve the missing child quest by asking the right people. Although I remember an action called scry, I do recall clearly that it was not because of "scrying" that he found the child.  For every person with whom he got to know well enough, there was the choice to "Ask about missing child" which finally led him to the place where the missing child was. Good luck!

First time you need to " Scry" and the second time you need to use " Dwelve into soul". ( as opposed to ask villagers).
