Buydebug is rather complicated too. It once showed me the BSOD. But I think I'm going off topic now if I continue.

When I said pack files, what I meant was .Sims3pack files. They are created when you save or "Share" your family, houses or other items from your Sims3 game. You can also download  .Sims3Pack files from the Sims3 Exchange or here in the forum - Swap Shop part of the forum. And install them into your game to play with.

Just a couple of qu's that have occured to me:
I didn't know about the testingcheatsenabled cheat either. Is there a risk that it might screw up your game or is it perfectly safe?
What does the pack file do? and how do you save it/re-use it in the game?

MrsFlynn will be able to tell you more in depth about the pack files, but essentially a pack file contains objects, so if you purchase a set from the store, it will come as a pack file which opens in the launcher then you can install it. One thing you can do is if you create a sim, you can save the sim, then copy and past the pack file (containing that sim) elsewhere on your computer. That way you'll have a backup of all your sims.

My wife and I play with aging and story progression both off. We don't want to see my Sims grow old and die. In Sims 2 we once decided to see what we could do with a Sim born in game. We created the parents and had a baby. We had a quick childhood, but made sure to accomplish the main goals for kids. When we aged her to young adult for University, we aged he parents to Elders and felt bad about it. So we've never aged Sims since. In Sims 3 we age a baby to toddler after 1 day. After learning all of the toddler stuff we age them to child on Friday morning. They get to be a child for 1 week and on the following Friday we age them to teen. We usually leave them as teens. Some families we leave the 2nd or 3rd kids in the child age.

I am about to try a game with aging and story progression both on. However, I have played the Sims in a previous save with both off and they have everything they need for Ambrosia. They won't age, but the rest of the town will. I would like to see how it goes.

As for Testingcheats being on the only thing I ever noticed was that our Sims occasionally lost a trait when we left it on.

Actually, that's just something that happens from time to time.  It's was a relatively common glitch a while back, but it seems to be somewhat less common these days...although it does still happen.

In my experience, it's not tied to the use of any cheats, as you hear about it a lot during the Dynasty Challenge.  Almost all cheat codes are banned from this scenario.

One of the things I like to do is introducing a new kid I made into a ready-made family.  I then focus almost solely on the kid and let the rest of the family do their thing.  Sometimes I use CAS and other times they make one the old-fashioned way.  Having the kid complete a LTW before even in highschool is a favorite personal challenge.

There are lots of things you can do in the Sims 3. My friend and I came up with this list a while ago and are trying to play through every one of them (we've only completed like 4 lol):

-Legacy/Uglacy
-Immortal Dynasty
-Make a household of 100% randomized Sims. Then play through several generations with 100% randomized Sims.
-Make a household of 8 Sims, with no trait being repeated between any of the members. (This is possible, lol! My friend has done it. Without using pointless traits like never-nude and vehicle enthusiast, too)
-Make a household of Sims with contradictory traits and see the madness unfold.
-Challenges (ex. Baby Boomer, Asylum)
-Create a story and post it on this forum!
-Collect everything, get highest quality cuts, fish, produce, make perfect meals, etc.
-Create the most dysfunctional family ever
-Trap all neighborhood Sims in a basement with no way to get out
-Make a male Sim and make him have hundreds of babies with the townies. Ask one son to move in. Have the son impregnate everyone, etc. Make these men be the most hideous men in the world.
-Create a female Sim and see how many babies you can have before you die. (For extra challenge, try to have a different father for each child and be a single mother) make sure to meet all milestones
-Create a household with 6 toddlers and two young adults. Try to play through legitimately and accomplish all milestones (Potty training, walking, talking, getting an A in school, max as many skills as a teen, get a part time job. For added challenge, accomplish lifetime wish as a teen
-Live your life as a homeless person
-Make a young adult female, or two young adults who dislike children, are mean spirited, etc. and make them have tons of kids.
-Live off the land. Be completely homeless.
-Make a person and try to have them complete every Lifetime Wish.
-Remove all houses/Sims in towns and create a new one
-Max All Skills with one Sim
-Max All Careers with one Sim
-Have your Sims life revolve solely around their wishes. If they wish something, you make them do it.
-Make a maze for your Sim(s) to get through
-Become a vampire and then make everyone else become a vampire.
-Detonate everything
-Create a family with an elderly man/woman and 7 toddlers.
-Buy every lifetime reward with one Sim (for added challenge, start as young adult or adult)
-Make a movie

How did you (or plan to) accomplish this? The game removes the 'Change Lifetime Wish' lifetime reward after your Sim has completed one already.

I meant to complete all of them. Doesn't mean you have to get the lifetime rewards associated with them.

I didn't mean either. How do you think you can complete them if you can choose only one? Or are you saying to complete all their required aspects, but get the credit for only one of them?

Yes, to complete all of the required aspects for all of them!

Okay, now I understand. Sorry for causing confusion. :)
