Ricanote: Thanks Gogowars! Jamie's favorite color is hot pink.   In fact, so is Pepper's but I have some serious anxiety about putting pink on a little boys clothes!.  I'm working up to it and he seems to understand.  I think.

Agnes Hinting

We were a few short days away from Pepper's birthday when Jamie moved in.  But despite the increased size of our house, we were no less a family.  Jamie snuggled with Pepper as much as the rest of us did.   Agnes and Jamie became fast friends.  Apparently, they were the exact same age.  One day I walked in to give Pepper a tickle when I saw Agnes was there giving him a bottle before going back to the sculpture she had been working on.  She was getting closer to the 25 ice sculpture mark that she said she needed to stop making them melt.  I was so proud of her.  As she was walking away, that's when I noticed that today my Aggie had decided to put on her old maternity clothes.  I know she wasn't pregnant but I was thinking that was a very strong suggestion coming from my wife.

[It really was the strangest thing within 48 sim hours Agnes not only changed into the maternity suit after a shower but she also had three wishes pop up.  Have a Child, Have a total of 2 children, Have a baby with sage. ]

Naturally, I did what any loving husband would do.  I said we could try.

And so did Chris with Jamie

As I came home from work the next night, before I got into the door I had my birthday.  With raising Pepper, work and learning how to grow cheese, I had completely forgotten about my adult birthday.  Agnes later confessed she's glad we didn't have a party as her and Jamie were both not feeling well.   That night as we were all settling down for a good night's rest, Agnes and Jamie both found out the results of a test.

Looks like Chris and I are better at this trying thing than we thought.  But then again - We are Steels.

Nooboos

With a week left before Agnes and Jamie become elders, the Steel men granted their wife's wishes to have babies. Neither of us could refuse the women we love even if the Watcher had wanted us to.  Chris and I took shifts taking care of our wives plus Pepper.  I was on shift when I wasn't working or in the garden.  And while I was on shift, Chris got sleep and some fishing done.   The night of Pepper's birthday party I bought the Diner where I worked then rushed home to see my little boy get bigger.  We invited everyone we could think of to see his aging.  A very pregnant Agnes picked up Pepper at the protest of the rest of us and took him to his cake.  The look in her eyes said there was no way any of us were going to get her to stop.

Everyone else at the party seemed to be in the living room.  I later found out it was because Bella Bachelor and Mortimer had been having a spat.  I think I'm going to have to have a chat with that young man

Then with a little birthday magic my adorable toddler son turned into a young boy with curls!  I could not believe the curls.  He didn't seem to like them very much either so he ran to the bathroom to get a haircut from his mother.  He also picked out a new shirt while he was there.  Apparently his favorite color is hot pink,  I'm still not sure I like that idea.  What man likes pink!

While the rest of us were cleaning up after the party, Chris went to sleep a little before heading out for his nightly visit to the graveyard.  That's where he was when he became an adult.  He had told Agnes to not include him as part of the birthday festivities.  I think he must have caught her at a hormonal moment because I can't believe she let him get away it.   Then again, maybe she let him get away with it because I managed to or she was just tired from being pregnant, sculpting and have a toddler race around.

After everyone finally said good night and all the party-goers went home, we all settled in for a good long rest.  My little boy was excited to go to school for the first time.  He woke himself up in his new big boy room, got him some cake for breakfast, and then went to his first day of school like a little trooper.   The rest of us were still recovering and in bed when he left.   Agnes regretted not getting a photo of him leaving the house but she was excited that she would be able to get him to stand for another portrait later.   She also knew that it was getting close to the time when our newest family member would arrive.   Her back seemed to always be aching despite the constant massages.  Then right after I got home from work that night, it happened.   She was painting Pepper's portrait and her water broke.  Thank the Watcher I was able to keep a cool head and get her to the hospital.  Shortly after that, we welcomed little Dill Steel into our lives.

Every adult in the house squealed and cooed over the nooboo we had just brought home.  Jamie couldn't wait to see the face of the little one inside of her.  After meeting everyone in the house, we put baby Dill into the nursery.  I took a few minutes to make sure Pepper didn't feel left out.  Double checked his homework for him, made sure he ate something other than birthday cake for dinner and asked him if he had met any new friends at school that day.   He was so excited to tell me about his day.  Then I tucked him into his bed and went to get some shut eye of my own.   On the other side of the house, Jamie had been resting by herself while Chris snuck across the street to get more angelfish.  That's when she felt the first labor pain.

She quietly, as to not disturb Aggie and me, waddled out of the house and screamed for Christopher to get the car.  I think Geoffrey or Nick would have gotten the car if Chris hadn't been so quick about it.  After I heard the second car door slam, I crawled back into bed next to my exhausted wife and waited for the morning when I knew nooboo number two came home.  In the early morning hours, my cousin and his wife returned holding their precious little boy.  They named him Mike after someone Chris and I had grown up with.   And I could tell already that he was going to be spoiled like the rest of us.

Birthdays!

We had four adults, two infants and a child all living under the same roof all of a sudden.  Chris started helping in the garden just so it could be taken care of as well as making sure all the kids were happy.  After school, Agnes would help Pepper with his homework in between sculptures.   I told her getting non melting ice sculptures wasn't as important as her enjoying her family.

Jamie also took time to sit down with Pepper.  She tutored him every day until he got an A in school.  She said she loved doing it and it helped that she needed to do it for work.  Logic was a powerful tool in medicine.  I think Pepper likes it, too.  He told me he wanted to be a sketch artist for the Police to help them catch bad guys.  I thought that was funny since we haven't had a burglar since his birth.

Before long it was time for the two littlest ones to grow up into toddlerhood, it was time for my quiet, non demanding son and cousin to become the little monsters I hoped they were.  We decided against a party to give everyone a break plus we knew we were going to have one in a few days for Pepper.
First up was Mike being held by Jamie.  Chris seems more interested in the incense holder than the birthday celebrations.

Then Aggie grabbed Dill before I could to bring him to his cake.  Chris finally figured out what we were gathered for it seems.  Agnes blew out the candles as Jamie set Mike down as we waited for some birthday magic!

First it was blonde Mike and then came my boy Dill.  Apparently, Dill got the same hair as his brother.

And then, we had some dresser magic!

Dill looks a lot like Pepper did at that age; whereas, Mike looks a lot like Chris except for his mother's hair.

Even More Birthdays!

With seven moving people in the house, things were never crazier.  There were toddlers to teach, a garden to keep, food to make, opportunities to be finished, fish to be caught and Sims to be cured.  Jamie and Chris made an early push to take care that Mike learned everything he could right away.   Jamie knew that soon she would be back on call and moments like these were going to be few and far between.

As it was the weekend, Pepper was out of school and decided to play with his little brother some.  First they played peek-a-boo.  Next came some quiet time where Pepper read one of his toddler art books to Dill.  Agnes thought it was so cute, she snuck in there and took a picture before Pepper could protest.

Then it was birthday time all over again in our house.  This time it was Pepper becoming a teenager.  He had been such a good child.  He was always either playing chess, doing his homework or working on his painting abilities.  Now my little man was becoming a young man.  And while he did that a bunch of people just stood around in the art room thinking about the newspaper girl.

Pepper ran to his room in horror of the behead and quickly changed clothes to something more his style while the rest of us had some cake.  I have to say he looks more handsome every day.  Definitely taking after his old Dad in that department.

That same night out of the prying eyes of friends, papparazzi and their husbands, the two blonde beauties reached the elder stage of their lifespan.  The only witnesses were each other and the toddlers who were in the process of getting fed and changed when the sparkles took over.

After making sure that Dill and Mike had their bottles and clean diapers, both ladies ran to the bathroom to get new clothes and to die each other's hair.

The rest of the week seemed pretty calm after that.  Agnes finished Dill's training as I strived to reach level eight in the Culinary Career and perfecting my cheese making process.  Meanwhile, Mike enjoyed the freedom to run around the house while his mother was at work.  With Dill keeping Agnes busy, no one was there to tell him to not eat the doll's head.

Ricanote: I wanted to apologize for all the quick updates.  I have been sick and since I'm not working at this time I took my dynasty family for a long ride.  They are currently at least one update from this point ahead of my thread, but I feel that I should keep the thread up to date for when I do play my Sims.  Hope that's ok.  I've modified my original post so all later posts will be linked atop the Prologue.  Happy Simming!

Birthdays and updates everywhere! No need to apologize for updating, absolutely none, we love lots of updates. :D Pepper has grown up really handsome, and the two little ones, Dill and Mike, are super cute.

Looks like Morty and Bella aren't going to make it in your version of SV.

Ricanote:  Thanks lilygirl!  I'm keeping my eye on Morty and Bella to see what they do just because I think it's crazy how story progression works.  I do have one more major update after this then I'm all caught up and ready to take more screenshots.   It seems like every update has had a birthday in it with Pepper aging and then the other two.  But there are 7 of them and it's 2 elders, 2 adults, and 3 teens right now so things could go anyway really.  Back to the Steels!

Do the birthdays ever stop?

After the last string of birthdays, we all jokingly started calling Dill and Mike - the twins.  They were born on the same day and most of the time where one can be found the other is not far away.   There was a time when it was a joke that Chris and I had been thought to be twins back home.  So when we had heard our beautiful wives call the toddlers the twins, the two of us had a private laugh that got strange looks from our better halves.  We just left the room still snickering together.   The day after Agnes turned into an elder was the first day she could sculpt ice so perfectly that it wouldn't melt.  The first person she wanted to sculpt was me. (of course)

It was also her first masterpiece sculpture so needless to say I was thrilled.  She managed to get it in while I was still an adult so I'll have a picture, portrait and an ice sculpture down in the vault.

As soon as she could get Pepper away from his easel, he also posed for Agnes to do an ice sculpture.  I'm not so sure about his pose though.

Speaking of Pepper and his easel, my little boy turned young man comes home every day to do his homework, gets some dinner out of the fridge, and then he goes to either start a new painting or finish one he started the day before.  He always goes to bed at a reasonable time but I would love to see him get out more and meet new people.

It was hard to believe that the time had passed by so quickly.  Before I was ready to give up my snuggle time, it was already time for another birthday.  Agnes and Jamie waited for me to get home to have the boys blow out their candles.  I had just gotten promoted to Chef de Cuisine with only one more to go for my lifetime goal of Star Chef.   As Jamie brought Mike to the table, Dill decided to start his birthday magic in their room without a cake. So the family and our vampire gnome all cheered for Mike in the dining room while Dill aged up without any prying eyes.

They both took a trip to dresser for some new duds in their favorite colors.  Dill is a big fan of red while Mike seems to like the color gray.

I still can't believe that the little nooboos I had been playing with not so long ago are now halfway grown.  Where does the time go?  I worry that time seems to be moving too fast for me.  Especially when I look into the eyes of my mortal family.

I had really wanted her to be a part of the boys lives at the same time so she didn't work on it as diligently as she could have but I think it's for the best overall.  We already have another sculptor and photographer attempting to learn their trade to take over when she's gone.

Big News for Jamie and Sage

The boys first day of school went so well they brought a little friend home, Shantel Woods.  She wasn't a newspaper girl and apparently she lived across the street from the Bunches with a decent sized family.  She's into photography just like Dill so the two of them became best friends before sundown.  All three of them were running around for hours playing tag.  Eventually Jamie made the little girl go home so we could get the boys to do their homework and shower before bed.

Mike told his dad he wanted to learn how to fish so Chris snuck him out of the house to go across the street for a few minutes.  Mike seemed to enjoy it but I'm not sure he enjoys it like Chris does.  I'm fairly certain that goes for most of us.  No one loves to fish like Chris.

However, fishing will always be second to his wife I think.  I'm so glad that Chris had a chance to find someone and have a family after moving in with me and Aggie.  I would have regretted it for the rest of eternity if I thought he had joined me on my destiny only to give up his own.

I've noticed that there are certain parts of my body that just don't feel the way they used to.  Even getting up seems like a chore on some days.  I have four days until my elder birthday and I realized I hadn't bought a property yet as per my Watcher instructions.  So I figured why not by the park across the street.   I made sure it had a kid area for both versions of children.  Some restrooms that were needed for quite some time now.  I even splurged on a trampoline.  My kids think it's unfair I'm willing to buy the neighborhood a trampoline when I won't get them one.

Life has settled into an interesting routine.   The boys all get home and do their homework.

Agnes spends all day cranking out sculptures.  That gator was the last one she needed for the Chiselmeister challenge she said she was working on.

My garden had gotten so big with me trying to grow so many things.  It's no wonder my body hurts.  Of course, I had to take a moment just then to allow a paparazzi to take a picture.  I had just picked both my 75th perfect and 650th harvest.  Two challenges completely taken care of with still 4 days until my birthday.   (I am the best gardener in the Simverse. Yea!)

I don't want you to think that all we do is work though.  Both of the boys have picked up painting and fishing but not like Pepper had.  They've dabbled if you can even call it that.  Mostly they just play.  I caught them one day playing tag inside the house and, of course, they adore the little block table that Aggie bought them.  Even more than the arcade game that me and Chris got them.

While everyone was at school, work, sleeping or in the garden, my wife disappeared to the park to take pictures.  While she was there, she ran into Dill's best friend Shantel Woods.   Shantel was now a teenager and quite pretty.

In fact, I'm not entirely certain that Agnes's intentions were all that good when she personally invited Shantel to the party that night.   She even kept Shantel busy by sculpting her when it turned out Pepper was out doing a research project.

The day of the boys' birthday, Jamie came home to tell us all that she had finally got that promotion she wanted.  She had achieved her dream of becoming a World Renowned Surgeon.

Ricanote: I have to say I was watching Shantel anyway because she was one of the few non newspaper delivery persons.  I think poor Pepper is in between townie children waves so he either has to marry someone who is older or wait for quite some time to be married to a townie descendant, which is kinda sad.  However, I think Shantel looks great except for her eyes.  I'll try to post her eyes in the next update.

Babies becoming Teenagers

With everything happening that day, it was hard for me to put together that it was all the day that the babies became teenagers.   Agnes had set up the party so that when I came home from work it was time for the boys to blow out their candles.  We all enjoyed giving Dill a hard time about making sure he actually shares his birthday with us.   His cheeks get all red and he gives me a glare because I'm usually the one that started it.  I have to say that I watched both boys as they were grew up and these two seem to have a flare about them.  I don't remember Pepper doing all the jumping around when it was his turn. It's like they made it a choreographed dance when it was their turn.

First step:  Arrive at cakes and light the candles

Second step:  Blow out candles back to back to insure no one knows where to actually be looking

Third step: Mike goes first since he was born last and does a twirling jump where he tries to/not to kick Pepper

Fourth step: Mike becomes a young man and leaves us all worried about what he's done to his hair midair.

Fifth step: Dill tries to outdo Mike's twirl and jump while trying to/not to kick Mike and Chris

Sixth step: Dill becomes a young man and shows off for the camera a bit.

Cha-cha-cha?

I probably make myself laugh more than anyone.  As we were eating cake, Mike announced to Agnes that he wanted to start sculpting like her.  Dill had decided to keep up with his painting and, of course, his photography.  He would be able to do any pieces that Dill needed made after… well after.   That night with conspiracy in their eyes both boys got new wardrobes but decide to keep the spiked hair.  They most likely did because Chris and I told them to make sure to change it.  Kids…

Ricanote:  Since it seemed like every post had a birthday in it I decided to have a post that was nothing but one birthday.  Hey why not.   There were actually people at this party but for some reason they all decided to hang out in the hallway.

Three Teens and a Promotion

Chris and I sat back after the cake was put up to get a moment of reflection.  Then he ruined my reverie by pointing out we had three teenagers.  He then followed that up with "Remember when we were teenagers?"  I called my mom and Chris called his.  Apparently, they were in Bridgeport together at some club called the Grind.  Chris and I just stared at each other then we both said we were sorry at the same time.   That gave the older women some laughs when we told them it was because we now had teenagers.   Apparently, our mothers, who had outlived their husbands, were doing everything and anything they wanted until Grim made his final visit.  They were even going to bargain he take both of them.   Crazy old bats.  Watcher love them.

I think the crazy is in the gene pool.  Couple of days after the last birthday party, Jamie and Chris went to Morganna Wolff's new place for a party.   Jamie kept trying to get everyone to take a new drug out on the market and Chris left to go skinny dip at the pool next door before heading to his usual spot in the cemetery.

After homework and dinner, Mike picked up his first chisel and started working with some clay under Aggie's tutelage.   She said he was a natural and let him enjoy the feeling of creation.

Pepper continued to work on his art.   He reached the level where he could confidently do portraits by the time he was done with his latest piece.

Saturday morning came around and I found the younger two actually doing their homework.  I'm fairly certain I heard a whisper about adults never doing the dishes.

While feeding the fish, Chris told me he was never doing dishes again.   The man was dead to the world and he still heard the kids in the other room.  I think Grandpa Owen would be proud.

Something is always going on in our house.  That day was also the day that Pepper decided his ultimate goal was to have a perfect mind to go with his perfect body.  I let him down gently by saying "if it wasn't for my good looks, he wouldn't have a chance."  His mother heard me and threw a towel at my head on her way to the art room.  I didn't understand why she did it so I went to go play video games with Jamie and Chris to let Pepper get stinky all by himself

With my birthday the next day, I went to work to get my final promotion.  Who's the best chef in Sunset Valley? This guy.

Although, my wife makes some of my achievements look small compared to what she can do.  I came home to tell her about the promotion to find the art room had been turned into a sweatshop.

Not only that but she can sculpt a fountain from stone that already has water in it .

Chris tried to play the one up game and built himself a pond.  He said this way he could fish and wouldn't have to drive in the middle of the night anymore.  I think he's just tired of getting me seeds from around the graveyard.

The day of the big bash for Pepper and myself started with a scream.  Mike had taken it upon himself to start a metal sculpture.   That didn't turn out so well for him.

Dill isn't evil but I think he has a streak in him somewhere.  He laughed harder than anyone else to see his best friend on fire.  Then after Mike had on new pants, they had a laugh together and became best friends forever.

Pepper had invited someone over but with the hazard that Mike posed to her health, they quickly left and went to her house.   My wife may have been on to something the week before.   She would make cute Steel babies if Pepper played his cards right.

Though I think the whole house would prefer she didn't pass on her eye color.

Ricanote:  Shantel's eyes are pink!  Also, the boys were really talking about dishes and trash and that's when I noticed Chris who was sleeping in the other dreaming as if he could hear them.  I had to pause the game and take screenshots.  Sometimes this game just cracks me up.  And i know the pond is kinda meh.  It's the first one I've ever done.  I'm going to try to use some terrain paints to make it better but I don't have the steadiest hand and my mouse is a trackball.
