Some Opportunities Bugged in Bridgeport
« on: March 30, 2011, 07:00:49 PM »
There are lots of bugged opportunities in BP.

For instance, my child got the "drop off permission slips" opportunity from school. I clicked "Go to City Hall", but it would pop up and disappear. I had no idea why, but I figured it out.

City Hall in BP is combined with other buildings, so there is no city hall, basically.

There are other opportunities where it sis bugged, as the buildings are combined.

Anybody experience this and know how to fix it?

Yes, this is a somewhat common complaint.  Those combination buildings are a little flaky for some people, but it doesn't always happen.  I think I've only ever had one bugged opportunity in BP, although I can't remember what it was.  I do know, however, that I have completed the "Drop Off Permission Slips" opportunity at least once, as I did it just yesterday.

I have no idea how you would fix this, since I don't often have a problem with it.  Sorry.  :P

Isn't the issue here that the game tries to send your sims to SV Rabbit-Holes to complete the task?
Like "Cameo in Movie" at the Wilsonoff Community Theatre?

Actually, I've completed that particular opportunity at least 3 times in Bridgeport.  Twice with the same sim, and once with her husband.  And since it's a Late Night opportunity (you get celebrity points for it), I'd think that if it was bugged, it would be bugged in other towns and not in BP.

"Cameo in Movie" is not bugged. I used it as an example. I should've been more clear.  :-[

This was supposed to have been addressed in a patch.  Make sure you're patched up.

Otherwise, you can go to Edit Town and replace the BP buildings with the old SV ones.  That does mean you'll need to make room for more buildings, because you won't be able to use the combo buildings.  You should probably make sure that you name them correctly as well.

Are you sure it's the opportunity that's bugged and not the sims action queue? Mainly as I found in Bridgeport lots of queued actions seemed to randomly get dropped off, not just opportunity-based ones. For example directing a sim to play for tips. There won't be any stamping of feet, or anything like that. The action would straight away drop off and the sim would just remain standing there like nothing happened (well, which technically nothing did).
