I know that in order to prepare spells you need to know the rune combinations and then input them in the right order, but where/how do you get the runes?

Thank you for the link.  I did read the guide that brought me to the forum because I did not find the answer to my question in the guide.  :)  My question still stands...how do you get the runes?  (Maybe I'm just missing something in the guide?)

Ah....Levels 5 and 10 will increase the number of spells that can be memorized at once to a maximum of eight, while also granting additional runes that will unlock more powerful combinations.

:)

My Wizard can find the Runes by hovering over the Spell on the Spell List when he is preparing a Spell as well and that is how I have been doing it so far. It's when I hover over it a thing pops up showing me which Runes are in it.

You get runes automatically, you don't necessarily need to obtain them. In order to see the runes that you have just click on "Prepare Spell" at the scrying/book station and it will show you all of the available runes you can use. You can also click on "Prepare Spell" when you are looking at the "Study Spell" page. You will get a few more runes once you become a stronger wizard but they are already all available to you, no discovering or collecting required. :)

Just make sure you put them in the order that it shows and it will work every time.
